Do you ever talk yourself out of using a certain embellishment because it’s so cute you want to save it for the perfect project? Or because you can’t figure out a way to tie it into the theme of your layout? Sometimes food embellishments do that to me. I SUPER love the citrus trend that’s going on right now and for today’s layout, I figured out how to use all of my cute little foodie embellishments on one layout about me and my daughter splitting the shopping list at the grocery store.
Lately I have been loving filling a whole section of the page with embellishments. It’s fun to kind of puzzle all of the pieces together and this way all that cuteness is really on display while helping to add to my story.
I used a mixture of stickers, chipboard, rub-ons, and even a few pieces of fussy-cut patterned paper to make a statement area above my photos. I popped some things up on foam for a variety in dimension.
I started with all of the food related embellishments I could find and then filled in spaces with other embellishments that helped to balance the design and the colors.
Because there was so much going on above the photos, I added a few journaling spots and die cuts on the bottom to keep it fairly simple. You can see how it all came together in the process video!
I hope you’re inspired to put some of your favorite fun embellishments on show on your next project!
