My daughter has her own sense of style. She loves pink and painting her nails and also loves Converse sneakers and wearing my brother’s baseball hat from high school. She is such a funky little mix of styles and I wanted to reflect that on my layout about her.
I started by pulling a real mix of patterned papers: a lovely floral from the Auburn Lane collection to reflect her girly side and a mix of blues and greens from Wild Child and Confetti Wishes.
I layered up a bunch of words on top and bottom of the photo that reminded me of Malia and of course I had to use that adorable green hat from the Pick-Me-Up collection! (I fussy cut it out of one of the swatch books because I already used my die cut one on another project.)
I used my fave Pick-Me-Up letter Thickers for my title. I like to create titles that draw you in and make you want to read the journaling, so I made it say “She Wears His Hat.” so the viewer wants to read and find out whose hat she wears.
I love the way the soft, fussy-cut floral leaves pair with the bold colors and phrases of the rest of the layout. It just feels like Malia to me. And I love that!
I hope you’re inspired to create a layout that fits the feel of your next fashionable subject!
