Happy Monday everyone, it’s Elsie here again! Mixing and matching my Pink Paislee collections is one of my favourite things to do when I’m creating a layout. Selecting a few bits and pieces from a variety of collections means that you can very easily create a new style and look, but you can also be inspired by the collections’ themes.
For today’s layout I mixed the Pick-Me-Up and Wild Child collections together, to create this super crazy and fun page!
For this layout I was inspired by the skateboard images in the Wild Child collection, and I wanted to use that idea in some way. I then found this skateboarding dinosaur cut file and I couldn’t resist using it for this page.
I used patterned papers from Pick-Me-Up to create the dinosaur as I love gorgeous turquoise ombre pattern on paper 04, and I just had to make a pink and flowery skateboard! To embellish the dinosaur and add some more whimsy, I fussy-cut the trucker hat from the 2×2 paper pads to pop on its head, and I added one of the puffy sticker milkshakes to its hand… this is a very “hipster” dinosaur!!
I framed my photo with one of the Wild Child polaroid frame die-cuts, but also added some of the florals from Pick-Me-Up around it. The colours from both of these collections match really well, even though the themes are so different.
One of my favourite embellishments from the Wild Child collection is the chipboard. I love how varied and whimsical the titles are and so I cut a speech bubble from Pick-Me-Up’s paper 22 and added the red ‘watch me go’ title. I think this title fits perfectly with my theme and skateboarding dino!
