Happy Wednesday friends, it’s Elsie back again with another 12×12 layout to share with you all! A grid design layout is one of those ‘classic’ designs that will never go out of style. It’s a design that I go back to, time and time again.
The die-cut and wooden frames from the Auburn Lane collection make this design super easy to put together, and bring a really cool and rustic vibe to this classic design!
A grid design is ideal for multi-photo layouts. I’m honestly not one to use multiple photos on my pages, but I love how easy they are to incorporate with this design, without making my page feel too cluttered. The wooden frames from Auburn Lane are ideal for making a feature of your photos, and they were my starting point for this page.
You get four frames in a pack, which wasn’t enough to fill an entire 12×12 layout, so I used one frame from the ephemera pack and created a few cute little shelves from some woodgrain paper to create the look of a gallery wall.
I played around with the spacing of the frames, but they will look great in whatever combination you arrange them in… That’s the beauty of a grid design, I don’t think it can look bad!
To help create this gallery wall look, I chose a simple and neutral patterned paper (from Pick-Me-Up) for my background, which I thought could look like wallpaper. I also created a few rips into the edges of the paper, to make it look like the wallpaper was peeling and create that rustic look.
Since the colours on the reverse side of the background paper didn’t match the rest of the layout, I adhered some of the gold foil washi from Auburn Lane on to the back, so when I curled the edges over the colours matched and it added some lovely shimmer and shine!
There’s lots of lovely rustic-looking embellishments in the Auburn Lane collection. But I’m particularly obsessed with the cute mugs and the chopping board, which I couldn’t resist adding to the shelves!
