Hey everyone, it’s Elsie here kicking off the week with a *sweet* layout that I created using one of my favourite techniques: fussy-cutting! This is such a simple technique, but I’ve been especially loving all of the fussy-cutting you can do with the Whimsical patterned papers.
As soon as I saw that colourful hexagon pattern on paper 05, I knew that I had to fussy-cut them all out and make them the star of my page! I cut every single hexagon from that sheet, so I ended up with some leftovers which I can use on future layouts.
Whilst I did consider hand-stitching around all of these hexagons, I decided against it because the hexagons already have some cute stitching details printed on them. Who would’ve ever thought I would say no to hand-stitching on a layout?! Haha!
Of course I had to add some of fussy-cut florals from papers 03 and 14. These florals make the most stunning embellishments and I think I’m going to need a lifetime’s supply of them because I don’t ever want to stop using them!
I placed them on my page following a very loose tone-on-tone technique, since the floral clusters on paper 03 are multicoloured. Whenever I use fussy-cut embellishments I always seem to use a tone-on-tone technique as I think it creates a really lovely, detailed and layered look.
I also fussy-cut some of the butterflies from paper 21; I love how small and subtle they are! And the chipboard flowers, leaves and butterflies are also small and beautifully detailed, so I couldn’t resist adding them to this page.
And finally, for my title I used a rub-on that says ‘little moments’ and placed it on my photo. Since this layout is so busy and colourful, I felt like it didn’t need a large title and I love how perfectly the rub-on fit on my photo.
