Backed Flower Frame Layout

Hey everybody! Paige Evans here with a new layout using the Whimsical collection and my Flower Frame cut file!

Pair the new Whimsical collection with a floral frame cut file for an eye-catching page design!

First, here is a process video so you can see how this layout came together:

I started by die cutting my Flower Frame cut file from smooth white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. Then I took some time to find all of the colored solid patterned papers throughout Whimsical including 12×12 papers and pieces from the 6×6 Paper Pad. Then I spent about 5 hours backing the cut file… Yup, it took a long time, but I found it relaxing and I love the results! All of the colors popping through the flowers and leaves!!

I chose Paper 04 as my background and painted gesso across it to tone down the pattern – otherwise it would be a bit too busy. I added the backed flower frame on top using dimensional adhesive to create depth and shadows.

I tucked a photo of my daughter swimming in her mermaid swimsuit into the bottom left corner and wrote journaling directly on the photo. I made the title with a sentiment sticker and the little colorful alphabet stickers found in the Sticker Book. I tucked a few more Stickers under the right edge of the photo as well as some Chipboard Sticker leaves.

Continuing to embellish, I added a heart sticker over each flower in a coordinating color and then topped off a few of the flowers with Ephemera Die Cut butterflies. These final touches help add more texture and interest.

I hope you are inspired to check out the new Whimsical collection and create something lovely!
