Hey everyone, it’s Elsie here with my last layout of 2018, and I also think a ‘Happy Christmas Eve!’ is in order! Hopefully you’re all prepared for the big day tomorrow, but if you’re in need of some last minute gift-wrapping motivation, hopefully this layout might be of some inspiration!
The idea for this page came from this photo I took of my brother sitting in a box I was trying to wrap as Christmas presents – annoying brothers, eh?! So I decided to create a page based around a gift-wrapping theme, and of course I can’t resist a good pun, so the title for this page is ‘gangsta wrapper’!
Although the Whimsical collection isn’t Christmas themed, it’s still very easy to create a festive page. To go along with my gift-wrapping theme I recreated my own miniature gift wrap rolls using patterned paper! I chose a gorgeous green floral, which is a very traditional Christmas green, and also a light blue and pink pattern for a modern twist.
I hot glued the rolls together and distressed the edges of each roll to create a much more authentic look! I tied them together with some thread and added a cute cardstock label sticker.
I also created three small presents using some cardstock scraps cut into squares/rectangles, which I tied with a thread bow to create some cute embellishments. I also added one of the butterfly charms which looks like a decorative label for a gift!
I cut my title using my Cameo, as I wanted the ‘gangsta’ part to be one of my main focus points of my page. I typed it using a scripty font and cut it from the pale pink pattern on paper 01, and for the ‘wrapper’ part of my title I used the metallic mini foam thickers.
To create a border around the page and to inject a little more festivity, I used some snowflake die-cuts I had leftover from my previous layout (which you can find here).
I embellished the page with some of the floral die-cuts and a lot of the stationary-themed embellishments, such as the washi tapes, glue bottle, pencil and scissor die-cuts and stickers. This really helps symbolize the gift-wrapping theme and story behind my photo!
