Hello there! Enza here and today I’m sharing a Christmas layout featuring the amazing Whimsical collection. Although this is not a themed collection, you can still find ways to make it work, especially if you don’t mind getting away from the traditional colors. With the help of a beautiful Holly Wreath cut file (ID 230976) designed by Paige Evans and the choice of a specific color scheme, this layout screams Christmas to me!
I started by backing the cut file with patterned paper in shades of purple, teal, and coral. I used those for the berries while for the leaves I went with two different shades of green. I also cut the image a second time from white textured cardstock and fussy cut more leaves to add to the wreath. I decided not to back those, as my goal was to make it look fuller without being “too much”. I adhered everything down with foam dots for dimension.
Once the background was ready, I worked on building several layers behind my photo. Again, I tried to stick to the color scheme and picked die cuts and embellishments that coordinated with the rest. The touches of gold elements here and there were added to bring in more of a festive look. Lots of foam adhesive was used in between the layers here as well.
I fussy cut two banners from Paper 08 and arranged them at the bottom of the photo. I love those cute little birds! The colors are perfect for a Christmas layout!
To finish my page I added colorful enamel dots around the wreath and gold, yellow, and blue stars around the photo. The super cute green tassel brought in more of that color and an extra element of texture.
I hope you like this layout and will feel inspired to create your next Christmas project with the Whimsical collection!
Thank you for stopping by!
