Hi there PP friends! Enza here with you to share a set of everyday cards featuring the Whimsical collection by Paige Evans.
It’s no secret I love using cut files on my projects, and more often than not they are the starting point for my design. Here I used Paige’s Mini Album Scalloped Edges cut file to create my card bases. I picked two out of the five pages that come in the set and transformed them into top folding cards. It may sound complicated, but it is very simple. I simply mirrored the image upward in my Silhouette Software then slightly overlapped the top portions and used the “weld” function to combine them and obtain one piece.
The first card features a more detailed scalloped edge.
I layered my embellishments using foam dots for a bit of dimension. I chose to go with some of the gorgeous foiled elements that come in the collection, not only for the flowers, but for the sentiment as well. To make the scalloped edge more visible and create some separation, I adhered a foiled sticker strip right above it. I then glued the card to a piece of white cardstock trimmed to size – I think the white edge makes all the other colors pop. Butterflies and a piece of twine wrapped around the top fold finished the card.
The second card is very colorful and fun!
I fussy cut two frames from Paper 13 and layered them on top of coordinating patterned paper for a tone-on-tone look. I used a craft die from my stash to give those papers a scalloped edge, just to repeat and reinforce the motif throughout the card.
Again, I adhered a foiled sticker strip towards the bottom and added embellishments trying to match the colors of the papers. A white background and purple twine finished the card.
I had fun creating these cards! I love how cut files can be easily modified to obtain a different look. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a lovely day!
