Seriously Sweet Layout | Elsie Robinson

Hey friends, it’s Elsie here! Today’s layout is a bittersweet one, partly because of the cupcake on my page, but also because this is my last post as a member of the Design Team!

I decided that this layout had to feature a lot of my favourite things from the Whimsical collection, so there’s lots of colours and florals! And with Valentine’s Day around the corner, hopefully this page will give you some Valentine’s Day themed project ideas.

elsie_jan28_cupcake_1Firstly I started off by backing this adorable cupcake cut file from Paige Evans. I used patterns with different shades of pink for the icing and cherry, purple papers to make the bow and I used the subtle polkadot pattern on the B side of paper 21 to back the cupcake case with. I think the end result looks good enough to eat!

elsie_jan28_cupcake_3Next I turned my attention on to the background. I added some texture with some white modelling paste and a polkadot stencil; I love the subtle detail this adds! And I also used my die-cutting machine to cut a doily cut file from white cardstock which adds a really nice extra layer of detail.

elsie_jan28_cupcake_7I used a few of the chipboard and cardstock stickers to frame my titles and photo. I nestled them under and over the cupcake which creates a more cohesive design and helps draw your eye straight to the photo. I also used the alphas in the mini sticker book to write out my secondary title: ‘my sweet pup’.

elsie_jan28_cupcake_4And of course, I couldn’t resist adding some flowers to finish off the page. I used a combination of fussy-cut flowers from papers 03 and 14 as well as the floral ephemera pieces. I would say that I went a bit overboard with the florals… but there’s no such thing right?! 😉

elsie_jan28_cupcake_6Finally I added some fussy-cut butterflies for even more whimsy, as well as that cute strawberry die-cut!

elsie_jan28_cupcake_2And that’s a wrap! I will miss sharing my creations with you on the blog each month, but do give me a follow on Instagram (@heyelsie_) because I’ll definitely still be creating and sharing projects using Pink Paislee.

Also I just want to say a quick thank you to Paige, Elisabeth and everyone else at Pink Paislee for being so supportive and lovely these past couple of years – it’s been a blast! And a huge thanks to you all for reading, liking and commenting on my projects!

Big hugs, Elsie xx
