Hey scrappy friends, it’s Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing a super cute and very colorful layout.
For this layout I wanted to make something very summery using bright colors to highlight some beautiful papers from the new Paige Evans Horizon collection. I had seen this cute sun on an image on Pinterest and I thought I’d try to make one for this layout. So to start, I chose a yellow paper. I cut out a big circle and adhered it to a piece of white paper. Then I added some sun rays, a mouth, and cheeks using blue and pink patterned papers. When I had everything adhered down, I stitched some parts of the sun to add texture.
I cut the sun out leaving a white border. I love doing that, I think it always gives a more finished look. Then I looked through my pictures to choose a picture. I found one from my last vacation in Italy. The flowers on the photo have exactly the same color as the deep pinkish purple in the collection.
I matted my photo on some scraps of paper, as I always do. I took a white 12×12 sheet of paper, cut off the edges, and placed it on two different patterned papers, a lime green one, and an orange one. I love having borders on my layouts. Then I stitched around it white this same deep pink/purple color.
I adhered the sun and the photo on my white sheet and started embellishing. I used a lot of flowers from the collection. Some ephemera, some chipboard stickers, and some cardstock stickers. I also used a flower paperclip.
For my title, I used the collection’s Thickers and one of the chipboard stickers. I placed everything on some patterned and white paper and cut around it, leaving a border. Then I adhered my title to the layout. I also used a little heart punch, punched out hearts in rainbow colors, and placed them all around the sun. This adds a cute little touch I think. What I also really enjoy doing at the moment, is adding white little details all around the layout. It adds more interest to the page and the different elements.
