Hi guys, it’s Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing a layout that I’m really excited about because it’s sooo pretty and I’m really proud of it!
When I sat down to make this layout, I had absolutely no idea where I was going to go with it… Normally, I already have a little idea what I want to make or if I want to use a cut file or make a paper-pieced cutie. Here I just sat down and started looking at the new products I just had gotten from Pink Paislee, which were the Project Pad and the 2×2 paper pads. I decided to make something with the Project Pad. From this paper I thought it would be cool to regroup all the pieces from the same color families and make flowers of different colors.
I wanted to make six flowers and I needed 12 petals for each flower, so I had to cut into a second sheet of that same paper to have enough petals. For the middle part of the flower, I created some 3D flowers using a Paige Evans Flower cut file.
When I had all my flowers done, I looked for a background paper which really didn’t take very long because I already had one in mind… probably one of my top 3 papers from the collection. I love the colors and the style of that paper – just perfect!
Since I wanted to lay all my flowers on that paper and they already had a lot of color, I took some gesso and made similar swatches of white in some places of the sheet to tone it down a bit.
When I had my picture and my flowers ready, I started placing everything on my paper. I loved how it looked, the flowers are such a statement piece. I thought that they needed some leaves though. So I hand-cut some out of a green patterned paper and drew some white details on it. I arranged them around the flowers the way I liked it.
For my title, I used some gold alpha stickers from the Project Pad and some tiny foam Thickers from the Pick-Me-Up collection.
