Hi everyone! As much as I love a colorful layout (remember, rainbow is my favorite color!), I sometimes just want a gender neutral and color neutral layout that really makes my photos pop off the page!
I started with this gorgeous, greige heart Paper 08 from the Little Adventurers line and then chose another neutral paper (Paper 02) to cut my circles from. I used the Circles Wreath cut file from Paige Evans, in a variety of sizes. I altered the cut file slightly as it got smaller and smaller to create less lines for it to cut.
I kept the inside of my finished cut file and used it as a template to trim out my photos so they fit perfectly inside the cut file circles. Once everything had been cut, the rest of the layout came together very easily.
I adhered my photos in place and then lightly adhered the cut files around the page using small dots of liquid adhesive. I made sure that a few of them hung over the edge of the page to give the feeling of little bubbles floating away. Then I took my page over to my sewing machine and stitched a few messy circles around each cut file. Not only is this a great way of adhering the cut files to the page, it adds a lovely texture and detail to what is going to be a really simple page.
Once everything was adhered in place, I glued on some little wood veneer hearts, creating three clusters around the page to give a visual triangle and draw your eye to both photos and the title.
At the bottom of my page I created a title using two wood veneer words and some Thickers. I created interest and dimension with the title by stacking two different colored Thickers on top of each other, offsetting the top one just slightly to give a shadow effect. Then all I had to do was date stamp and add my journalling and this very simple page was done.
I really love creating fun, busy and colorful pages but there is something about a simple and neutral layout that just fills my heart. Especially when you’ve got such cute photos to work with!
