Hello everyone. It’s Donna here today back on the blog with a new layout. It’s one of those layouts that I started and ended totally different from what I planned. I used Paige’s Horizon collection but this time I chose some subdued colors with just a pop of bold colors.
This stitched border was actually an idea I thought of when I finished the layout. I felt the right side part of the layout was kind of bare so I added this along with the folded corner at the bottom right.
I backed the cut file with a paper from the 12 x 12 paper pad. I sprayed some colorful mists on the background before I adhered the cut file in place. It’s also cut off a bit and placed at the edge of the layout. To add interest and tie the cut file to the overall look of the layout, I embellished the ends with some stickers.
The black and white photo just popped over the mix of subtle and vibrant colors. I placed inside the cut file and mounted it with foam tape too before placing over a small doily. Then I followed the curve of the cut file to make an interesting title.
This fun border is a couple of paper strips embellished with circle cut outs, washi tape, and stitching. I folded the edges a bit for texture.
This turned out really pretty although it’s not my usual style. I love the interesting details of the fancy border, the stitched and folded corners added to the overall look of the layout.
That’s all from me today and I hope this inspired you to be creative. Try some fancy borders and stitching details on your layout next time. Happy crafting!
