April Guest Designer | Maija Männistö

Hi everyone! My name is Maija Männistö and I am from Finland. I am over the moon happy for the chance to be a guest designer for Pink Paislee! You can find me on my Blog, Instagram, and YouTube. All the collections from Paige have always been my favorite and I am super excited to share with you what I made with her latest collection, Horizon.

For this layout I used Paige’s Love You Tons cut file that beautifully fills the whole page. I went with the tone-on-tone method with all the gorgeous flowers and butterflies I fussy cut from various patterned papers, stitching the edges of each with matching thread.

This layout is inspired by the grid design layouts I’ve seen Paige make many times. The 2×2 paper pads are so perfect for this! I gessoed the background to get the blue and white feel, perfect for the photos of Greece. I wanted to include several photos and backing them with the 2×2 papers made the grid perfect! Creating the individual pieces of the 2×2 paper and embellishments is super fun and easy way to build up this kind of layout and finishing touches of machine stitching makes the layout really pop.

Making fringe hearts is my passion! I love creating my own embellishments and they are perfect for cards. I used papers from the 6×8 paper pad that come with the rose gold foil details, making the card sparkle beautifully!

I used the washi tape to create the background for this layout by simply stacking different lengths of different washi. The frame shapes are cut from a 12×12 paper – the perfect backdrops for photos and embellishments!

The rainbow colored paper was demanding me to do another tone-on-tone look :) I used the florals to create a cluster of them and finished it off with a banner on top. Simple and easy to make, yet quite stunning in my opinion!

For the mini album I used Paige’s Accordion Box Mini Album cut file that can fit so many things inside. In my inserts I have close to 42 photos in total. I love that I didn’t have to leave out any because they fit in this perfectly! I even made mini albums inside the mini album. In total I made 8 different inserts.
