Hey friends, it’s Lisa here today and I’m sharing with you my very first coptic book inspired by Paige Evans.
Since I saw Paige’s coptic books a few years ago, I wanted to make one. I even asked my dad to cut me tons of wood pieces for the cover and the back, but they’re still in a box, untouched… 😉 Too much to do, not enough hours in a day!
So when I got the Boxed Cards from the Confetti Wishes collection, I asked myself what I could create with them, apart from using them as normal cards.
That’s when the idea came to create a mini album in a coptic book style.
So I took one card of each style, 10 in total, for the inside pages. For the cover and the back, I used some thick cardboard and used patterned papers that I wrapped around the pieces.
Then I attached everything together, watching Paige’s video tutorial step by step. HERE‘s the link to her Etsy shop, where you can buy the class to make a coptic book.
What’s really cool when you make a coptic book is that you can use all sorts of cute embellishments to add to the binding of the book. I added mini tassels, heart charms, and sequins.
Inside of the mini album I stitched the cards together on the side and bottom to create a pocket at the top. I created mini envelopes with my envelope maker, cutting off the flaps to close them. Then I decorated each of the envelopes. I also attached an eyelet and a piece of ribbon so that you can easily pull out the envelopes when they are inserted into the pockets.
I inserted one envelope in every second pocket.
I didn’t decorate the inside too much because I don’t have pictures yet to go into my mini album and I plan to decorate the rest when I add my photos. I only used this Adventure cut file by Paige, backed it with vellum, and adhered it to one of the pages.
I also decorated the first page of the album by adhering flowers from the Horizon ephemera pack and a chipboard sticker, using foam squares to add dimension.
For the cover, I used a Layered Flower cut file by Paige. I cut out the different layers from patterned papers in the Horizon collection, creating a rainbow look. On the last layer of the flower, I added a Rolled Flower and then a pearl in the center of that one. I think it looks so cool and fun with all the layers and colors.
I really hope you like it and are inspired to make a coptic book mini album too! Thank you so much for stopping by!
