Hello friends! It’s Kylie with you again and today I am so excited to be sharing a layout created with the divine Indigo & Ivy collection. When I first received this collection I immediately fell in love with all the beautiful papers that feature watercolor effect, soft muted tones, as well as deep navy. There were so many ‘color way’ options I could go with but for this design I chose soft pastels with a floral accompaniment.
For my background I selected Paper 04 as it reminded me of a lovely linen fabric. I decided to add some extra texture to my background. Using a stencil I had in my stash I used some translucent modeling paste over the top of it, followed by some very faint watercolor splashes. I didn’t want the background to override my layout and was super happy with the delicate effect it gave.
Using Paper 05 I cut some folded circles using Paige’s cut file. I cut these in two sizes and distressed the edges a little with my scissors prior to adhering into place. I love that they give an illusion of a little windows of paper opening out. Almost a panel effect!
To balance and evenly distribute color on my page, I also added some distressed borders of paper to the right hand side of my layout.
I layered several different color options in paper behind my photo. All edges were distressed first to continue with the overall shabby chic theme I was creating. I’ve also tucked in frames and tags from the die cuts behind my image, which was adhered with foam tape so that it sat up from background. The watercolor flowers in the die cuts were also added with foam tape. These were perfect for framing the bottom edge of my photo.
Using both sets of alpha stickers I added in my main title. The contrast of the blue and gold together suited my theme. To finish my layout I added a small amount of gold sequins to my background page as well as some butterfly die cuts over my folded circles.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest project!
