Hello friends! It’s Kylie back with you today and I am sharing another layout I have created with the beautiful new Indigo & Ivy collection. With so many pretty papers and different color ways to choose from, I decided to go for a mostly pastel theme. Even though I didn’t use Paper 10, I gained a lot of inspiration from it with the feathers and pastel stripes which I have based my completed layout around. The main color palette I wanted to use was a delicate pink and navy. Originally I was going to use a color photo and my daughter was wearing pink and navy so it seemed a good match. However I changed my mind once I got going and went with a black & white photo as it seemed to look better with the completed page.
I selected a white cardstock for the background page and with watercolor paints I added a simple stripe, alternating up and down strokes. I also added a few paint splatters here and there.
Next I added some bolder color choices for some strips of paper in behind my photo. I cut them at different widths and lengths before distressing the edges just a little. My photo was backed with Paper 08 which was a lovely peach/pink tone to match my watercolor stripes. I also distressed the edges of my photo before adhering it over the background strips with foam tape. The cute frames from the die cut pack were perfect for adding behind my photo for balance too.
Using a feather die from my stash, I cut some feathers and ran some machine stitching through the centre for added texture. Before I added them to my page I also bent and folder the edges a little too.
To the base of my feathers I added a neat cluster of the flower die cuts as well as some of the leaf stickers. I did so using foam tape so they sat up from my background.
The ephemera with gold and glitter accents are divine and perfect for creating a page title. I added some of the Thickers also for a nice contrast.
I have also filmed a process video of how my layout came together:
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest scrapbooking layout.
