Hi friends, it’s Lisa back on the blog to share a new Indigo & Ivy layout.
A few years ago, I made a layout where I made hearts using to halves of patterned paper. I wanted to make something similar again, using the beautiful new collection. So to start, I chose the patterned papers I wanted to use and added two papers from the Turn the Page collection by Paige Evans. I added those to give the layout a different kind of color scheme and have a pop of bright coral.
I traced hearts onto every paper using a self-made template, then cut the template a bit smaller and traced a second heart on every paper. I cut them all out and cut them into two halves. Then I decided how I would mix and match them, using four different patterned papers for every heart. I adhered them together with a drop of glue and then I also adhered them to some white cardstock to have a third layer behind the big heart. I cut around, leaving a border and then went through my sewing machine, adding gold stitching details to my hearts.
As a background, I used one of the very light pinkish patterned papers from the collection, cut off about 1/2 inch of two sides and adhered it on a yellow/brownish patterned paper to create a frame… like I do most of the time! I then arranged all my hearts on my page and adhered them to it.
For my picture, I used one of me and my boyfriend when we were in Paris a few weeks ago. I matted it on two patterned papers and placed it on the layout, arranging it between the hearts. I added a gold tag.
As a title, I used one of the gold die cut words from the collection saying “always” and then added some Thickers to write “you”. I LOVE the combination of the gold and navy blue and the different fonts! The finishing touches were some enamel hearts, some pink splatters, and a scribbly border in navy blue.
