I haven’t got my hands on the papers from the Truly Grateful collection yet but that wasn’t going to stop me from creating a joyful layout using all the fun embellishments! I used my Foil Quill to create a background that perfectly suited my photo and then I went embellishment crazy!
I chose a blue cardstock that matched my photo perfectly and then decided to foil my background using the Zinia Flower cut file from Paige Evans. When choosing the foil color for my background, I looked at my photo and found tiny spots of pink. So I knew that using a hot pink foil would help bring out those colors in my photos as well as match perfectly with the floral die cuts from Truly Grateful.
After my Foil Quill had finished, I removed the leftover foil to reveal the most amazing, sparkly background. I matted my photos with some white cardstock and then added craft foam to the back of one to give a small amount of dimension. I placed them just slightly towards the bottom right of center.
From the floral die cuts, I picked out three of the larger floral clusters. I like that they had a white border to help them stand out from the background design and tie my photo border in as well. Along with those three clusters, I added a few more blue leaves and some extra smaller flowers. Then I glued everything down.
Instead of a title, I used one of the scripted wood veneer woods as a tiny title and glued it beneath my photo. Then I added a few of the epoxy wood buttons around my floral clusters.
I couldn’t help but add just a little bit more sparkly to my page, so I glued a few of the Truly Grateful sequins around the page and then I added a few splatters of white ink around.
Here is a quick process video of how this page came together:
Creating your own fun and perfectly matching background is so easy with the Foil Quill! I love how much joy this whole layout has, it really is something I’m grateful for!
