Hello, PP friends. Enza here, and today I’m bringing you my very first layout featuring the gorgeous Truly Grateful collection by Paige Evans. As with all Pink Paislee collections, I’m in love. The colors and patterns are so pretty and the embellishments are the cutest thing ever; it’s the perfect collection for the upcoming fall season, but it can be easily adapted to document any time of the year.
My layout today is about my oldest daughter and her passion for dance. Nothing new for those who have followed me for a while 😉 She is so dedicated! Her dream is to become a professional ballerina and she’s working really hard towards her goal. The photo on this layout was taken during our last vacation in Italy, on the beach, by a professional photographer who agreed to wake up at four in the morning to make her happy. She had a vision and the photographer was able to capture it.
I chose the Hummingbird cut file designed by Paige because it gives me the idea of freedom and happiness, and that’s exactly how I feel when I look at the photo. I started by cutting the hummingbird twice, as I wanted to use more of the flowers that come with it. I then backed one of them with several papers from the collection, keeping the colors limited to purple, peach, and green shades.
Once done, I foam-mounted the cut file and adhered it towards the top right corner of the page. To balance it and create continuity, I arranged more floral elements in the opposite corner and placed the photo in the middle. I used patterned paper to mat it and sentiment stickers along the top. The die cuts in the Floral Ephemera Pack are adorable and perfect to embellish around the photo. I added fussy cut foliage from Paper 23 and the adorable bird that comes in the Puffy Stickers set. The title was also included in the same set.
To finish the layout, I added a cluster of flowers with sentiments and foliage at the very top of the page.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and the story behind the photo. I love this collection and I’m excited to keep creating with it. Until next time.
