How about a couple of fun and easy cards with fall colors and sweet sentiments? Enza here, and today I’m bringing you a new set featuring the Truly Grateful collection by Paige Evans. Cards are a nice change of pace for me. I love creating layouts, but sometimes I like challenging myself with card making. I’m referring to it as a challenge because the canvas I “have” to work with is pretty small compared to a 12×12 page. Most of the time I go back to my layouts for inspiration and use similar techniques to achieve comparable results. Fussy cutting seems to be my favorite one, especially when it comes to creating backgrounds or clusters of embellishments.
For the first card, I fussy cut flowers and leaves from Paper 02 to layer over the whole card base.
I started by trimming Paper 17 to measure 4×5 ¼ inches. I then matted it with Paper 07, leaving a thin border around it. The cluster of flowers and leaves was adhered down with foam dots; same with the beautiful and encouraging sentiment I placed in the middle. I love the fall colors so much! To make sure the background looked cohesive and well balanced, I adhered the sentiment in the center of the card first and then went on adding the fussy-cut elements, balancing small and bigger flowers and leaves.
Same idea was used for the second card.
Again, I fussy cut lots of leaves from Paper 10 and created three circular layers around the sentiment. The rainbow effect here is just so pretty! The bottom layer was adhered down with foam adhesive; same with the sentiment. I finished the card with foliage from Paper 02.
I’m happy with how these cards turned out. I hope you like them too. The colors in this collection are amazing! Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely day.
