I was inspired by this heart-shaped die-cut with lots of flowers and leaves from one of the ephemera packs. I thought it’s a fun idea to create a wreath design in the shape of a heart.
So, I fussy cut lots of flowers and leaves from Paper 02. I arranged them first into a heart shape while fussy cutting so I have an idea how much more I need to cut. I would mix some die cuts later on but most of what I used were from Paper 02. Then I used watercolors to create a heart shape onto the white cardstock. Once the watercolors dried, I started placing the flowers and leaves one by one. I wanted to add some dimension to the flowers so I used foam tape and curled the edges of the leaves and flowers as well. I accentuated the center of some flowers with buttons and puffy stickers.
I stitched this purple heart die cut with green embroidery thread. As for the title “happy place”, I curled the edges and used foam tape to adhere it to the bottom tip of the “heart shape” wreath.
