Hi scrappy people, I’m back with a new project. I created two very fun cards using the Again & Again collection.
Since I’ve been on the Pink Paislee Design Team, I’ve created a lot of cards. I like creating basic square or rectangular cards, but most of the time I prefer making more special, out-of-the-ordinary cards. So this time I thought I’d make some flower-shaped cards that you can open in the center. I think they turned out soooo pretty!!
To start, I just drew some flowers on some white cardstock and then used the stencil to recreate that shape on my two patterned papers I wanted to use. I used a deep purple one, with pink and white polka dots and a light grey one, with stripes and dots. I then cut them out and adhered them to a white sheet of printing paper. For the center, I used white cardstock that would make it easier to write a message on it. I pierced holes for the stitching and stitched them using matching threads. Then I cut them out again, leaving a white border.
At that moment, the inside of the flowers were still white but of course, I wanted them colorful and I also needed another little piece that would make it possible to open the card. So I cut out two circles that I thought would match out of patterned papers and I attached them to the center, using a little white strip of paper. That way you could flip it open and write a message on the inside.
Then I went through the whole collection and chose the embellishments that I wanted to use to decorate a bit. I chose an ephemera piece and a sticker strip (that I cut in three pieces) as my sentiments and also used some other ephemera pieces, stickers, and enamel shapes to stick to my flowers.
