Hello dear friends! It’s Kylie back again today and this time I am sharing some new cards I have created. I decided to work with the Again & Again collection for my designs and have also included some cute cut files designed by Paige. The delicate florals and woodland theme in this collection is so pretty!
When creating cards I always like to layer. I will start with my base and background, have something interesting going on in the middle layer and have the sentiment and dimension on the top. I was never a confident card maker, but by sticking to my simple formula I am always happy with my results. I used a 6×6″ white cardstock base for both of my cards and lined each with two contrasting pieces of paper so that it had a double edged border. I like to distress the edges a little for texture before using double sided tape to adhere to my card base.
For awhile now I have been wanting to try Paige’s Rolled Flower cut files. I think they are so adorable! They were very easy to assemble, just cut, roll, and glue! I actually used a hot glue gun to glue these together as I’m impatient and it bonds instantly. Regular glue will work fine though if you don’t have a glue gun. I punched some cute leaves to back my flowers with a die from my craft stash.
For my ‘something in the middle layer’ I have used another die from my stash which has kind of a honeycomb result. This was added in behind my roses. I used some of the cute mini alphas in my sentiment title as well as one of the phrases from the sticker sheet. This was added with foam tape so it sat up from the background. To finish I added a few gold paint splatters.
I applied my exact same card making formula for my second card also. I used two background papers layered before adding a lattice overlay cut with another die in my stash. You can only see a tiny little bit poking out underneath but I love the contrast in color it gives my card.
I am no stranger to Paige’s Layered Butterfly cut file. I’ve used it SO many times and love it. I added two stitched butterflies over some layered die cuts to create this card. I machine stitched through the centre of my butterflies and left trails of cotton not only for texture but to act as their antennae.
They gave a lovely balance to my card and to finish I added one of the gold paperclips and some gold star sequins to my background from the embellishment pack.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layered cards!
