Hello, PP fans. Enza here and today I’m sharing a new layout featuring the beautiful Truly Grateful collection. My idea was to create a Halloween layout with a mix of traditional and non-traditional colors. You’ll find orange and purple, but also blue and fuchsia, with splashes of mustard and red. Let’s say it’s a fall/Halloween layout 😉
I started with the gorgeous Doily Corner cut file by Paige Evans. I love that it is intricate enough to create interest and when cut from white cardstock, makes everything else pop. I backed it with Paper 13 – it was the deepest color and the perfect substitute for black. The subtle design on it catches your eye and brings in another shade of blue, which coordinates with the die cut flowers.
Before adhering the background paper to the cut file, I backed some of the smaller spaces with patterned paper in colors that reminded me of Halloween and fall: purple, mustard, orange, and fuchsia. I love the pops of color – I think they bring the whole page together and create contrast.
For the photo, I layered several papers and ephemera pieces behind it. Considering the busy background, I opted to limit the embellishments to leaves and flowers on opposite corners of the photo. I used foam adhesive to stick everything down to achieve lots of dimension. I also added the Epoxy Wood Buttons in the center of the red flowers to add more texture.
Several sentiments from the 6×12 Cardstock Sticker sheet and foam and puffy sticker dots finished the layout. Splashes of purple ink filled the empty spots, balancing the whole page.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and will experiment with different colors to create your next Halloween/fall layout. Thank you for stopping by!
