Hello friends. It’s Kylie back on the blog today with a new layout to share. I am in the middle of a very mild spring season at the moment and I have created a layout inspired by that. Combining cut files is a favourite technique of mine and I have worked with 2 of Paige’s cut files: the cute Bee cut file as well as the Flower Trio cut file. Since I wanted my layout to be all about color I have worked with the beautiful Truly Grateful collection.
I chose to work on a white background and to begin with I fussy cut a cute sun from Paper 14. Using a Sunburst Rays stencil (also designed by Paige!) I blended some ink behind my sun. I really loved this effect and the burst of color to the white background!
I cut some strips of grass to layer over each other on the bottom edge of my page before both cut files were backed with coordinating papers. I adhered them to my background page with foam tape, as I did also with my photo, so that they added some height and dimension. The bee is just SO cute! I added a little layered flower die cut as well as some of the pink sequins for eyes.
Some of the flower die cuts were added layered over the grass at the base of my photo. These were also added with foam tape for dimension. My photo was printed in black & white since I had so much color going on with the rest of the layout. This is something that is good to consider when you still want your photo to be the main feature of your design.
To complete my layout I created a title and subtitle from some of the sticker packs. Once finished I loved the color and spring vibe my page had!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope my layout has given you some inspiration for your own scrapbooking!
