Grateful-Styled

After waiting all winter, spring finally arrived and I could think of nothing better that I wanted to celebrate with a bright, colorful layout! The colors of Truly Grateful made that even easier!

I started my layout with some thick, white cardstock and chose a few complementary colors from my photo. Pinks, reds, and yellows were going to form the basis of my layout. I grabbed my watercolor powders and got to work creating a riot of colors and splatters towards the middle of my page. I’m no expert when it comes to watercolors, so I ended up with a sort of upside-down L shape, which gave me a perfect place to add my title later.

Once the watercolor had dried completely, I matted my photo with a few die cuts and papers from the Truly Grateful collection, keeping everything in the same colour way as my background.

Before adhering my photo, I played around with adding a few of the floral die cuts, again keeping to pinks, reds, and yellows. I also added a few bunches of threads in coordinating colors to three spots and then I glued everything down.

My last step was to add my title, made easy by combining two different puffy stickers, a single word art piece, and a smaller word underneath. Then I ruled some lines with my t-square ruler and added my journalling in a pink gel pen.  I also stamped my date using a yellow ink to keep everything tied together. A scattering of puffy sticker and enamel hearts around the page really emphasizes the love I have for this season.

I love all the bright, brilliant colors of Truly Grateful, they really do help celebrate any season you are in!
