Hi scrappy people, Lisa back with a fun Disney-themed layout that I made using the Truly Grateful collection.
Last summer, I went to Disney World in Orlando and took some cool pictures I wanted to scrap. When Paige came out with her Disney cut files, I was stoked. I love this Minnie Mouse one especially and I knew it was the perfect cut file to use with one of my photos.
I started by backing the cut file. This cut file has some irregular lines that I wanted to fill with the main colors I wanted to use on this layout. The red really comes out in the picture, so I needed to also use red on the layout. I wanted to pair it with blue, pink, and purple. I chose all my papers and backed all the parts of the cut file. For the middle part, I used vellum and when I adhered it to my white paper, I put some sequins from the Truly Grateful collection behind so I have a big shaker Minnie head. I wanted to add even more colors to the cut file though, so I framed the Minnie head five times, using red, peach, pink, purple, and blue papers. I think it turned out amazing!
The cut file also has flowers and leaves. I only backed some of the leaves but left the flowers like that because I wanted to add flowers on top.
I added some ephemera flowers and also some I had cut out from patterned paper. I also created a 3D flower to have even more dimension. I then added some leaves and wood buttons. I matted my photo with two of the patterned papers I had used before and then placed it on my layout. I decorated around it with flowers, leaves, a little bird sticker, and wood button.
For my title, there was nothing more perfect than the epoxy word stickers saying ‘ Make your own magic’. I mean… perfect words, perfect color, perfect size… I want that in all of my layouts, haha! I added it to the layout and also added some of those epoxy hearts. Then I used a red gelato and smooshed some color all around the Minnie head. I also added some red and gold splatters.
I hope you like it as much as I do. See you soon!
