Hi friends, Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing my very first project using the lovely Lucky Us collection. This collection is a Valentine’s collection but of course, you can use for every other theme or occasion.
I really, REALLY love the color scheme of this collection. Pinks with reds and aquas? Yes, please For my first project I wanted to feature the beautiful patterned papers of this collection. I chose the ones that were the most solid without too many mixed colors and details.
For my first card, I created nine little flowers. To make them, I cut out two whimsical and irregular flower shapes that I layered and one circle. I cut into the circle all around, reaching almost the middle. Like that, I created a fun center to layer on top and then I added a glitter enamel dot on each of the flowers. I cut out everything by hand so the flowers are all a bit different and not perfect, which I like. To create dimension and make the flowers more 3-dimensional, I used a ball tool, put the different layers on a foam mat, and pressed the center of the paper into the mat with the ball tool. This makes the petals stand up.
I adhered the nine flowers to my square white base, which I previously had adhered to a red patterned paper, and added some matching tangled thread behind each flower. This creates even more interest and texture. To finish the card, I added a sentiment sticker from the cardstock sticker sheet.
For my second card, I used exactly the same papers but I wanted to have one big flower.
So from each of the patterned papers, I hand cut out an abstract flower shape. Every time I cut it out a bit smaller so that I could layer all the papers. I used my ball tool and foam mat again and pressed the paper into the mat to create the dimension I wanted. Then I adhered the layers together. For my center, I took a piece of paper and shaped it into this puffy little circle. I like how that turned out!
As my card base, I used white again with a pink border. I adhered my flower to it and added three flowers from the ephemera pack behind it. I added thread too. This time I used all the colors together and made a big messy nest. I also used a sentiment sticker on this card and a little heart sticker.
I really love those cards and I hope you do too. You should definitely check out this new Pink Paislee collection See you soon, thanks for being here!
