Hey scrappy friends, it’s Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing this super duper cute layout I made using the beautiful new Christmas collection called Together for Christmas.
I could stare at this cute little Santa for hours, he’s just so fun! So to start this layout, I used an aqua patterned paper from the collection. The paper has little white spots all over that look like snow. I like that kind of color combined with red. I used gesso on my paper to lighten it up and also to protect it from the mixed media that I wanted to do. I smooshed the gesso in the center of the paper using a baby wipe. I like to do that because that way you don’t have any sharp edges from the color. When the gesso was dry, I used some pink spray to get some color on my paper and then I splattered white and gold all over the page.
This collection doesn’t have any pink in it but I absolutely wanted to include some. So I added the pink to make it more my style and brighten it up. Then I started creating my cute little Santa. I drew him on white paper, cut out the pieces, traced them on different patterned papers, cut them out, and assembled and glued them on white scrap paper. All the papers I used are from the Together for Christmas collection, except the pink one. Then I poked holes all around the parts that I wanted to stitch and then I stitched all the white parts. To finish, I cut him out leaving a thin white border.
I placed the little guy on the layout, using foam squares, and beside him I added my picture. My picture is from last Christmas where me and my sis were wearing the same Grinch pajamas. I matted it on scraps of paper and placed it next to Santa.
Then I started fussy cutting! I used one of the patterned papers that is full of flowers and leaves and I cut out almost everything. I then added flowers and leaves on the layout. I think the layout looks so cool with all the flowers… I love using flowers on my layouts
I think Santa looks adorable with his pink tights… 😉 To decorate the layout even more, I used puffy stickers, acetate snowflakes, and star stickers. For my title I used a gold epoxy word saying “Christmas” and some of the brown Thickers to write “pajamas”. I also gave Santa a tree underneath his arm. It came in the ephemera pack.
I hope you like how it turned out. I really do like it and hope I could inspire you. See you very soon!
