Hey friends, it’s Lisa back on the blog and today I’m sharing something I’m really super excited about, my bunny mini album
Back in February I taught my second workshop and we made this cute mini album using Paige’s collection Bloom Street. I wanted to create something springy and I came up with this cute bunny album.
To make the cover, I traced a big circle and added some ears to create my bunny head. I cut it out from one of the watercolor patterned papers and adhered it to a white sheet of cardstock. Then I added two pieces of different patterned papers in the center of the ears. I pierced holes around the whole thing and also around the inner pieces of the ears and the nose. Then I back-stitched it, using colorful thread.
To finish the rest of the cover, I drew a cute bunny face using two hearts from the colorful hearts patterned paper as cheeks. I added a flower crown to its forehead, using the ephemera flowers and popping two of them up with foam squares.
I also created a bow and wrapped gold tulle around the middle part. I punched a lot of teeny tiny stars and added them to the ears and cheeks, as well as some gold sequin stars. I love how cute it turned out. The best part is yet to come. I added the three pompom tassels under the bow and it just looks fantastic! I just ordered more of the tassels, they are amazing. I attached them in between two layers of patterned paper.
This particular album is a gift for my friend, with whom I go on vacation a lot. We’ve taken so many pictures together throughout the years and I chose all the prettiest ones for this album. The title is: The best of us. I used the mini alpha stickers included in the sticker book to write it on one of the bunny’s ears.
For the pages of the album, I cut out a circle as big as my bunny head and used it as a template to trace all of my pages. I chose 8 patterned papers and on each one I traced two circles next to each other. I made the circles overlap a bit to create a small (around 3-4 cm) straight line. That line was the point where I folded the pages.
When I had all my double circles cut out, I folded them and attached them back-to-back. If you want to create a mini album like this, make sure that the pattern that you want to be visible in the album is on the inside of the folded page. The outsides of the pages will always be adhered to the next page, so they will not be visible anymore. For a better understanding of this process, make sure to check out my process video on my YouTube channel.
When all the pages where adhered together, I used a small rectangle of patterned paper and attached it to the first and last page, sandwiching all of the pages in between. Then I added the cover and back on the top and bottom. I hope you can see what I mean on this next picture.
The rest is all fun and embellishing. I used a bit of almost everything that’s included in this wonderful collection. Here is a look at all of the pages…
On this back of the album, I added a cute shaker pocket where I could slide in all of the photos that I couldn’t include in the album. I attached them together using a brad.
Here are a couple photos from the workshop:
I hope you like how it turned out! Thank you for being here!
