Bloom & Grow Layout | Paige Evans

Hey there! Paige Evans here with a new layout featuring my Bloom Street collection and handmade patterned paper strip flowers.

Check out the process video to see how to make these cute flowers and create the layout from start-to-finish:

I started by trimming (2) 1/4″ strips from almost all of the Bloom Street patterned papers. Each flower needs (5) paper strips trimmed to the same length. I varied them from 1″ to 2.5″ to create a bunch of different sizes of flowers. Loop each of the five paper strips per flower and glue the loops in place. Punch circles from patterned papers and glue the five loops onto the circle in a flower shape – doesn’t need to be perfect! Adhere another circle in the center to complete the flower. Once you make one, you’ll want to make dozens!

I chose the pink floral & bees B-side of Paper 07 for my background. I adhered (5) blue/green 1/4″ paper strips at various lengths across the bottom for the stems. Then I quickly placed all of the handmade flowers across the top part of the page to see if I liked the direction this page was taking. I did! Moving on!

I needed pictures. I didn’t have pictures for this layout yet. I’m so “erbsessed” with these daffodils that have blossomed in our backyard that I’ve been working so hard to keep alive through these crazy Colorado winters. 70 degrees one day, a blizzard the next, back to 70 a few days later. I’m still getting used to it :) Anyway, I kept these flowers alive and wanted to get pictures of them and Jane. So I asked Jane to get dressed and come model for me and she agreed. Here are the pics!

I printed the photos at home and trimmed them out leaving a white border for contrast. I adhered the photos overlapping using foam adhesive for dimension below the flowers. The title is created with a “BLOOM” from the Puffy Vinyl Stickers, “and” mini alphabet stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book, and “GROW” from the Floral Foam Thickers, all placed below the photos. To finish I wrote journaling on part of a mint journaling card from the Ephemera Die Cuts using a blue pen and placed below the title.

That’s it! I hope you are inspired to pick up my Bloom Street collection and have fun creating these patterned paper flowers! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon!
