Birthday Boy Layout | Diane Williams

Birthday_Boy-styled

Green might not be my favourite colour but when my favourite little guy turned 1, I totally embraced the tropical shade in the 5th & Monaco collection!

I started this layout by cutting the Balloons cut file from Paige Evans with white cardstock. I then filled in each of the balloons using patterned papers in green, teal, and black & white. I loved the tropical look of the green leaf washi tape so I adhered a few strips to white paper and then used it like a patterned paper as well.

After deciding to add my photos and journalling along the bottom of the page, I added a strip of both gold washi tape and the same green leaf washi I used for the balloons. Then I trimmed a piece of patterned paper to be the right size to fit my photos and used a border punch to give it a decorative edge.

I added my title using the Thickers from the collection as well as one of the smaller puffy words. Then I hand-stitched the number 1 at the top of the page using green embroidery floss.

I trimmed out a journalling spot from the cut apart paper and ran it through my typewriter as well as adding a date stamp in green ink. Then I adhered both the journaling and photos down, after matting them on white cardstock to make them pop off the background.

Before adhering the balloons down with foam dots, I carefully cut two of them free from the cut file so they could float across the page and my title.

The last step was to add a few sparkly sequins peeking out from the balloons.

I love how fresh and fun this layout turned out to be, perfect for celebrating this little man! I might even have learned to love all that green!
