Flowers: Grow Layout

Flower season is my favorite season in Europe; the buckets filled to the brim with colorful petals and blooms on every windowsill make my flower-loving heart burst with happiness! I ‘m so excited to share my flower-themed layout with you today!

I started by die cutting the flower cut files I designed for the April Studio Calico kits from white cardstock and left the cardstock on the sticky Silhouette mat while I watercolored over them. I pulled colors from the Fancy Free collection and painted the flowers in pinks, the leaves in greens, and the sprigs in yellows. Once the paint was dry I carefully peeled the die cuts off the mat.

On a vanilla cardstock background I swirled white paint, let it dry, and then flicked black ink across the background.

Then I layered all of the die cut flowers as well as a few fussy-cut flowers from Fancy Free papers diagonally across the layout – that way your eye goes all across the page.

I added a photo of my sweet girl eating gelato in front of a lovely patch of flowers in Passau, Germany and journaled a bit below.

Do you love flowers? Do you love using them on your layouts and projects? I’ d love to see! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
