Punky Sprouts Blog Hop {Day 2}

Hello all!  Corrie here and today is Day 2 of the Pink Paislee – Punky Sprouts blog hop!  I am thrilled that I had the chance to work with one of Punky Sprout’s amazing mini albums.  Such fun textures and a great design.  Plus, I used this chance to make a mini album about my oldest daughter.  I have had the idea in my head for awhile and finally have it created!

For this project I used the new Declarations line (LOVE it!) and mixed in pieces of the She Art line.

Inside this album are a variety of materials to create on.

I love how the Declaration line was PERFECT for a album dedicated to her track season.  The colors, the stars, it all works!

BE SURE to leave a comment each day for your chance to win a prize pack, and visit Punky Sprouts to see more creations by their team!

Material Mix {A Bit of Everything}

Hi everyone!  This is Corrie here today to begin our “Material Mix” theme. All this week, we will be showing you ways to incorporate several Pink Paislee lines together on one project!

I love to mix different product lines.  It really helps to stretch your supplies and make each and every page unique.  At first glance, it can be difficult to see how different lines can be used together, but they really can.

For my page, I used a little bit of just about everything.  I used Prairie Hill, Indigo Bleu, Christy Tomlinson, London Market, Spring Jubilee and the Wood Shop Expressions.  Yep, a little bit of everything.  I know these lines together all look so different, right?  But by pulling out just the matching pieces, they really all do work well together.  Here is my page.

This photo of my daughter was soft and the colors in it were very easy to match up.  I just sat down with each of the paper collections, looked at both sides and pulled out all of the papers that worked with the photo.  I pulled colors to match her shirt, the chairs, her pink lips and the porch and window sill.  Then I could easily get to work on my page.

Embellishing was easier than choosing the patterned papers, probably because it is my favorite part, but that is ok.  The page is about how we spend time together hanging on our front porch.  The birds and butterfly stamp helped with the outdoors feel.  The heart sticker just emphasizes how much this time means to me.  The buttons and brads are just so fun, I had to include them.  And rub ons are always a great way to add layers and texture to your projects.

I hope this has inspired you to pull out all those new Pink Paislee collections and mix your materials together for a new look to your projects!

Clear Scraps Blog Hop {Day 4}

Hi all!  Corrie here for day 4 of our Clear Scraps blog hop!  It has been so fun to see all the great projects made with Pink Paislee and Clear Scraps products this week, don’t you think?!

I worked with the Clear Scraps Lacey 8×8 Mixable Album and made it into a free standing frame to display photos on a table or desk.

I used the clear acrylic top layer as the “glass” for my frame.  And being a lover of the layered look, I added rub-ons, a stamp, a tag, ribbon and chipboard stickers to the acrylic to create the framing effect.

Under the acrylic, I embellished the chipboard to be able to stand alone.  I included the details of the pictures on this page so I would have them but with the acrylic over the chipboard, my handwriting is hidden.

The acrylic was perfect for taking rub-ons and the stamps.  I was so happy with how fun and easy it was to use!

Now for some fun! How about a chance to win a grand prize package at the end of the week? All you have to do is leave a comment on the Pink Paislee blog all week long, and you’ll be in the running for the grand prize that will go to one lucky winner at the end of the week! And be sure to stop by the Clear Scraps blog all week long, as well, to check out more lovely creations and for more chances at prizes!

Quotes {Use Alphas}

Happy Monday all!  It’s Corrie here and I am going to show you a layout that I made using a quote as my title.  Quotes can be pretty long, but they can be the perfect way to journal and title a page.  Plus, there are usually a few words that really tell the entire meaning you are trying to get across.  A helpful way to get across your true meaning is to use the different Pink Paislee alphas in a creative and meaningful way.  Here is my page…

“May you live everyday of your life.” -Jonathan Swift

The meaning I really wanted to get across to these girls was “live life”, so I knew these two words really needed to be the highlight of my title.  I pulled out the different alphas and began laying them out.  Using different size alphas really helps to emphasize different words in either your title or journaling.

The smallest alphas were perfect for the most insignificant parts of the quote and I gradually increased the size of the alphas to show the increasing meaning of the rest of the quote.
