Mother’s Day Inspiration {Make Tissue Flowers}

Hi there, this is Felicitas with another tutorial post. We are close to Mother’s Day, and I want to show you how to make tissue paper flowers for your Mother’s Day project.

Supplies:
She Art – Paper Dolls Collage Tissue
also: acrylics or color sprays, scissors and some toothpicks

Step 1: Color your tissue paper in two matching colors.

Step 2: Fold the paper until you have a 1.5 inches square. Then cut a leaf shape out of the paper.

Step 3: Fold the second colored paper in half and cut it as shown on the photo. Then glue it on the toothpick.

Step 4:  Start gluing the leaves around the blossom. The more leaves you glue on it, the bigger your flower will be.

Step 5: With the same technique, glue some green leaves on the toothpick. That’s it.

I used this flower on the mixed media canvas I created for my mother, but it would also look great on the front of a handmade card!

Thanks for visiting the Pink Paislee blog today, and don’t forget to get started on your Mother’s Day projects.

Stay creative, xo Felicitas

Hot Products {Day 2: Spring Jubilee}

Hi there, this is Felicitas with another “hot products” post. When I saw the Collage Cards from the Spring Jubilee collection, I know exactly what I wanted to create out of them. The entire collection is so great for wedding projects, so I made this album with photos from my sister’s wedding:

Supply list for the embellished album:
Spring Jubilee – Collage Cards
Spring Jubilee – 6×6 Paper Pack
Spring Jubilee – Party
Spring Jubilee – Celebration
Spring Jubilee – Soiree
Spring Jubilee – Shindig
Spring Jubilee – Press Ons
Spring Jubilee – Shipping Tags
Spring Jubilee – Chipboard Stickers
Spring Jubilee – Bitty Blocks

I love the size of these huge Collage Cards, and I also love the new printed Shipping Tags. These are great for hidden journaling, which you can see on the last side. They’re also great as a background for your photos. But now I want to show you how quick and easy I created the base for this album:

Supply list for the album base:
Spring Jubilee – Collage Cards
Spring Jubilee – Soiree
Others: stapler, matching ribbon (mine is from Nantucket), thread and needle or a sewing machine, glue

Cut a straight line into the middle of cover and back. This will be the fixing for the binding of your album.

If you want you can also cut out a shape on the cover.

When you’ve chosen your cards cut 3 stripes (width: ca. ½ inch) and fold it in half. This will hold your cards together.

Sew some lines on the paper stripes between each tag side. If you don’t want to sew, just glue the single pieces together.

Because you want to create a leporello album, make sure that you change the folding direction after every card.

Grab some matching ribbon and pull it through the cut-outs on cover and back.

Tie a sweet bow to close this album base and your Collage Tags album is ready for your embellishments. Hope you give it a try!

Thanks for visiting the Pink Paislee blog today, take care.
Felicitas xoxo

Technique Week {special masking tapes}

Welcome to Technique Week, Day 1! This is Felicitas and I’m here today to share a cool technique how to create matching customized “masking tape” stripes with your favorite Pink Paislee papers…let’s start:

Supply list, “masking tape”:
Vintage Vogue – Dress Shop
Vintage Vogue – Taffeta
Nantucket – Oyster Bar
Nantucket – Crab Cakes
Snow Day – Fireside
scissors, clear sticky tape, bowl of water

Step 1: Messure the width of you sticky tape and cut some paper stripes.

Step 2: Press the tape on the paper stripes. Make sure that your favorite print is on the top.

Step 3: With a bonefolder or your scissors holder just rub over the tape and give it a good pressure.

Step 4: Put the tape stripe into the water and let it soak in a few seconds.

Step 5: Make sure that the paper side is up and then just slidely start rubbing the paper off.

Step 6: Rub until all paper pieces are in the water and there is only the very thin printed layer left on the tape. Then you take the tape stripe out of the water and let it dry.

Step 7: If you want to, you can fake the torn edged look to get a real “masking tape” effect.

Result: Repeat step 2 to 7 with the other paper stripes and get a cute collection of tapes out of your favorite Pink Paislee paper collections. As you can see I layed an kraft tag under the stripes, so you can see that the tape is kind of transparent.

This is it, the “tape” isn’t sticky any longer BUT with some glue it’s ready for your projects!
I used the stripes on a scrapbooking page: Love that effect and I hope you give it a try.

Supply list, layout:
Mistables 12 x 12 Paper Pack
Snow Day – Warm Mittens
Vintage Vogue – Dress Shop
Vintage Vogue – Tin Titles
Nantucket – Ephemera
Nantucket – Jumbo Shrimp
Expressions Cushies Alphabet
some tulle, black pen, blue inkpad, sewing machine

Epiphany Crafts Blog Hop: Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Epiphany Crafts Blog Hop!

Hi everyone, this is Felicitas and this is my very first blog post for Pink Paislee…whoohoo! As the other girls, I also have some projects to show you that were made with the amazing Epiphany Crafts & Pink Paislee products. I love the caps – and the tools are really fun to play with! Because we’re so close to Valentine’s Day, I also themed my projects with love.

Did you see the title of my card? I customized some Epiphany Craft caps to create some graffiti style alphas. Here is the quick tutorial how to make it.

Supplies: Pink Paislee paper stripes (mine are from Vintage Vogue), Epiphany Crafts tool “Scallopes Circle 25″, matching Epiphany Crafts “Bubble Caps”, some cute paper shapes and a black pen.

Step 1: Draw the single types on your paper. If you don’t know which size will fit in the cap, you can punch out an empty shape to get the right height for your types.

Step 2: Place the stripe into the tool and push the bubble cap on the top. Give a good pressure to the epoxy and punch out the embellishment.

Step 3: Almost finished. The paper glues onto the epoxy and for a good long lasting adhesion, I pressed both parts together again.

Step 4: This is it! You can also incorporate some cute flat paper shapes like the red heart in the Epiphany Crafts caps. I really like this effect.

Because I was really in the crafting process, I created another project making customized alphas. This will be hubby’s lunch bag for Valentine’s Day.  ;)

As you see in the last picture, you can also incorporate the “Snow Day – Bitty Blocks” alphas in these bubble caps…very versatile, right? Hope you give it a try and thanks for visiting the Pink Paislee blog today!
