Hello Pink Paislee fans! Larissa here to show you something cute and meaningful that I created for the Easter celebration!
Inspired by the amazing “She art” collection and Christy Tomlinson´s work, I prepared a set of 3-D paper matryoshkas Easter eggs:
By definition, a set of matryoshkas consists of “a wooden figure which separates, top from bottom, to reveal a smaller figure of the same sort inside, which has, in turn, another figure inside of it, and so on”. Instead of wooden, my set is made from paper.
Easter eggs are meaningful. They are symbols of renewed life and hope. When I put together these 3-D paper eggs with the powerful messages that I found in the “She Art” collection it was almost like the dolls, from the bigger to the smallest, was gaining life!
I used the same template to create and mold each one. I just had to resize it and then, after molding my eggs and painting the dolls´ faces, I embellished them with some butterflies cut outs and words like “she left her fears behind”, “She knew she was loved” or “she dared to dream” using “She Art” and “Spring Jubilee” lines by Pink Paislee.
The biggest is this one:
Here is the second:
And the little ones – numbers 3 and 4:
You can open each of these matryoshkas eggs to insert the smaller dolls.
