Spring Fling Week {A Paper Prom Dress}

Hi there! It’s Mona here today with a Spring inspired project to share. While I was out for a little retail therapy, I couldn’t help but notice all the beautiful prom dresses on display. So many different styles to choose from: some long, some short, some simple, some frilly and elegant, etc… When I returned home and was looking at my “naked” dress form, I decided to dress her up with a simple, yet elegant Pink Paislee prom dress made using gorgeous products from the Spring Jubilee collection:

After creating a pattern, I used the pretty patterned paper accordingly: Spring Jubilee ~ Festive for the bodice and smaller skirt pieces, Spring Jubilee ~ Party for the larger skirt pieces:

Spring Jubilee ~ Shindig for the rosettes, Spring Jubilee ~ Festive for the leaves and were cut using die templates from the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms set:

Once the dress was complete, I adorned it with a few beautiful butterflies from the Spring Jubilee ~ Chipboard Stickers pack:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have enjoyed my Spring themed project today :)

Clear Scraps Blog Hop {Day 3}

Hi Everyone! It’s Mona here hopping along with Clear Scraps!

I have a mini album to share that was made using a fun Clear Scraps Wave shaped Clear Acrylic Shaped album along with beautiful products from the Pink Paislee London Market collection. Love the curves of the acrylic wave shape album ~ adds a touch of elegance! To create this mini album, I first die cut various patterned papers from the 6″ x 6″ Petite Paper Pack for the main background of each page, then I added my photos and adorned each page with lots of fun product. The cover features: a fun little British heart shaped banner and label from the Ephemera pack, blossoms made using pretty patterned paper and alphabet Bitty Blocks from the Indigo Bleu collection. These little letters are so versatile and make for great titles, journaling and sentiments on so many of your paper crafting projects.

How fun and elegant are the crowns shown below accented with glittery goodness???

As you can see, I used love of pretty pieces from the London Market Ephemera. The sweet bird, decorative doily and postage stamp are just a few in this pack of goodies!

I adhered some glitter to the bird piece for a little extra texture and shimmer:

Couldn’t resist adding a little British flag :)

I layered the butterfly pieces and adhered a Chipboard button that I sponged with green ink to the center. I made a sentiment banner using an image from the London Market Clear Stamps.

Love the Vintage birdcage Ephemera piece:

and wrapping it up with the last two pages full of gorgeous Ephemera and flowers made using pretty London Market patterned paper:

I can’t get enough of those fun Vintage Spool Buttons ~ I think they can dress up pretty much anything and make it look fabulous!

Quotes {Canvas Art}

Hi Everyone! It’s Mona here and I am sharing a project that I created based on this week’s  theme “Creative with Quotes”. I created a canvas using mainly products from the newly released Pink Paislee She Art collection designed by Mixed Media artist, Christy Tomlinson. The She Art – Truth paper is FULL of some of my favorite quotes including “She didn’t care if it was perfect”. I think as designers, painters, artists, crafters, etc… we need to remember that our projects don’t NEED to be perfect. It’s ok to make a mistake, it’s an opportunity to learn. If you don’t like something, simply paint over it! :)

The She Art collection contains so many products making it so easy to create a mixed media project and so much more! To create my girl’s dress, I combined the Courage polk a dot design along with the Soar multicolored/patterned design. Using fun designs such as criss crosses, scallops and zig-zag stitches from the Press Ons Rub Ons Doodle Art Stitches, I embellished her dress, her legs and many other areas of the canvas.

I added a bit of dimension and texture using the Vintage Doily Mask along with molding paste. What a fun and wonderfully designed stencil don’t you think? I also used Press Ons Artsy Textures which add another layer and fun patterns.

In case you are interested to see how I created this canvas, shown below are some of the steps taken along the way. First, I cut various pieces of patterned She Art papers and adhered them to the canvas.

Using the Vintage Doily Mask as my pattern, I applied molding paste to add dimension and texture:

Once you fill in desired area of the stencil with molding paste, gently lift up and remove the stencil revealing the gorgeous design.

Allow molding paste to dry completely then finish canvas by adding the girl and embellishing with inks, Press Ons Artsy Texture and Press Ons Rub Ons Doodle Art Stitches.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and are inspired to create.

Using the Cricut Expressions, I cut the Waltzingmouse Tea Bag Baggie template using various prints and colors of paper from Core’dinations Pink Paislee Modern Prints Collection. NOTE: I slightly hand sanded all the embossed paper which really makes the embossed image “pop”!

Close up, you can see the beautiful embossed lattice pattern of the Core’dinations Pink Paislee Modern Prints Collection. The butterfly and decorative strips were made using pretty patterned paper from the Nantucket Collection and the doily was made using Vintage Vogue ~ Tailored Suit paper.

The next treat bag sample showcases the gorgeous embossed chevron pattern from the Core’dinations Pink Paislee Modern Prints Collection:

Hot Hues Color Inspiration October

Hi there! It’s Mona Pendleton here today as a Guest on the Pink Paislee blog. Today I have the fun October Hot hues inspiration graphic for you:

Such an awesome color palette that coordinates wonderfully with the Phantom collection!

Although the Phantom collection contains many products that may be used to create projects year round, I was inspired by this fab graphic to create a Halloween mini album that is jam packed with Phantom goodness.

Starting with the cover, I stamped a few images using Phantom – Clear Stamps above and below a ticket  shaped sticker from Phantom – Element Stickers:

The Phantom – Element Stickers pack contains so many spooktacular stickers! The page shown below features another ticket shaped sticker and a stamped cameo image:

I embellished this page featuring my step daughter Meredith with a home made rosette made using a piece of Phantom Pattern Paper – Apparition featuring a beautiful brad from Phantom – Brads and a piece of black lace from Vintage Vogue – Ribbon Trim:

Lovin’ the variety of patterns from the Mistables – 12 x 12 Paper and how easily color may be added, making them totally customizable for ANY project. The page below features an inked green “honey comb” patterned Mistables paper with a fun image from Phantom – Clear Stamps:

I made a little sentiment banner by stamping the Creepy image from Phantom – Clear Stamps on a piece of Claudine Hellmuth’s sticky back canvas:

Having a blast creating with Mistables – 12 x 12 Paper, I die cut this Spooky house, painted the pieces then stitched them on the page and topped it off with the HAUNTED sticker from Phantom – Element Stickers:

Lastly, this page features the ornate large SPOOKY sticker from Phantom – Element Stickers:

LOVE how the black acrylic paint makes the beautiful embossed patterns on the Mistables – 12 x 12 Paper pop:

Remember the Phantom collection contains many products that may be used to create projects year round making it another versatile Pink Paislee collection!

I hope you enjoyed my project today and are inspired to play with the October Hot hues colors! Looking forward to seeing what you create! Please remember to link your project here and upload it to the Live Pink Gallery as well.
