For today’s post, I created some Thanksgiving paper cone favors that would be perfect for giving to dinner guests.

To create the cone, I started with an 8″ square piece of Core’dinations embossed cardstock.  I rolled the cardstock into a cone shape, and I adhered the edge.

I created a festive topper by cutting out pumpkin and leaf shapes with my Cricut Expression and Create a Critter cartridge.  I inked and distress the die-cuts and added some machine stitching for detail.

I then stamped an image from the Amber Road stamp set and cut it out.  I then layered the die-cuts, stamped image, and ribbon, and I adhered them to the cardstock cone.

I finished by added a little crinkle shred and candy.

If you left off the sewing, this could be a pretty quick and easy project.  And you could easily adjust the size to fit whatever type of goodie you wanted to add to the paper cone.

I started off with a piece of green patterned paper to use as the base of my project.  I cut it to fit inside of an 8 x 10″ frame.

I cut pumpkin shapes at 7″ using my Cricut Expression and Pumpkin Carving cartridge.  I used some green cardstock for the first layer and Mistables patterned paper for the second and third layers.   I misted the Mistables paper with Mister Huey’s Pumpkin Spice mist, and then I inked the edges of all three die-cuts with a light brown ink pad.

I altered the second layer by cutting off the stem and the third layer by cutting off the stem and outside edges.  I adhered the first two layers together, and then I popped up the third layer with foam adhesive.  I added the Wood Shop Wood Chip letters (inked with a brown ink pad) to the die-cut, and then  adhered the die-cut to my base patterned paper.

I added a tag cut at 1 1/2″ using the Cricut Expression and Give a Hoot cartridge and yellow patterened paper.  I inked it with a light brown ink pad and added rub-ons.  I tied it to the pumpkin with some twine.

I cut my leaves using the Cricut Expression and Create a Critter cartridge from the yellow patterned paper in multiple sizes (1 3/4″, 2″, and 2 1/4″).  I inked each leaf with a light brown ink pad all over, then I added a little red and green ink to add a little color.

I machine stitched the veins, crumpled the leaves, and then adhered them to each side of the pumpkin.  I finished with a bow and button at the center.

I found an old 8 x 10″ frame around my house that wasn’t being used, and I painted with with some off-white acrylic paint.  I then added the finished panel to the frame to finish.

When I think of Halloween, I think of treats.  I thought it would be fun to create a cupcake box.  I used my Cricut Expression and Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge to create the box.  I used patterned paper from the Twilight collection.

I then dressed up the roof line with the ‘Spooky’ sticker from the Phantom collection.

I just love this font!

Next, I created some ghosts using my Cricut Expression and Happy Hauntings cartridge, and patterned papers from both Phantom and Twilight.

I placed one ghost inside and one outside of the box.

Lastly, I created a couple pumpkins using my Cricut Expression and Mini Monsters cartridge.  I used Phantom papers and brads.

I found the black bags at the craft store.  I cut about an 1 1/2″ off the top of each of the bags with pinking shears, so they fit into my Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I embossed them, then I added stickers, brads, chipboard letters, and paper from the Phantom collection to decorate them.

Such a gorgeous color palette that works beautifully with the Vintage Vogue collection!

When I saw the line-up of colors and got my Vintage Vogue goodies out to start creating, I noticed that all of the circles in the color swatch shown reminded me of the colors in the Spool Buttons package.  I got so inspired by that and the design of the Hot Hues image, that I used the image as a  sort of sketch for my layout.

Here is what I came up with:

I used the Spool Buttons along the edge to mirror the color swatch, and I placed Ephemera and Chipboard Pops in a collage style in place of the photos.

I also used some of the new Wood Shop Wood Chip alphas for my title.  (I am just crazy about this font!  Love it!)
