Get To Know Guest Artist Suzanne Sergi

Hello, Pink Paislee Fans! My name is Suzanne Sergi, and I am so thrilled to be here! I live in Orange County, CA. but I am a Texas Gal at heart! I have been scrapbooking for about thirteen years. When my first daughter was born, I became a SAHM. Of course, I wanted to begin documenting her every move. I walked into a scrapbook store, simply searching for an album. I walked out of there with so much more, and realized the possibilities were endless! I fell in love with the beautiful products, and love that this hobby gave me an opportunity to document my family’s story. For me scrapbooking is my creative outlet, and I tried to find creative time, every single day. Even if it is only for fifteen minutes!

I have been fortunate to have been published in Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbooking & Beyond.I enjoy creating scrapbook pages, home decor projects, and mini albums. From time to time, you might even see a card from me! Adding layers, and details to my papercrafts are perhaps my favorite parts of the design process. Scrapbooking has definitely turned into one of my biggest obsessions! However, when I am not scrapbooking, you’ll find me with a Starbucks, and a great book!  Thank you Pink Paislee for the opportunity to create with your products.

We have been waiting and waiting to feature Suzanne’s work here on the blog and we knew it would be worth the wait.  Originally when we announced our guest artists for 2011 we never dreamed our blog schedule would get so behind and we would have to wait over a year to showcase Suzanne’s work here!   She is one talented crafter and you can see her work on several design teams!

We especially love how Suzanne successfully mixed the Vintage Vogue Collection with our Mistables collection to highlight the fun pinks and blacks!  The stacked boxes look like they should be featured in a very elegant centerpiece setting!  I just love all the glamour and glitter she used too!  A girl after my own heart!

Stop by Suzanne’s blog to see all of her paper crafting galleries  - (on the right side of her blog!)  We adore her and you will too!

Thanks Suzanne for making us wait in anticipation….it was well worth it! ;-)

Get To Know Guest Artist Amy Parker

Hi Everyone! My name is Amy Parker and I am so honored to be here guest designing for Pink Paislee! I am a stay-at-home-mom to our 2 little girlies, Creedence, who is 4, and Aurelia, who is almost 1. I started scrapbooking a little bit after my eldest was born, and my love for this hobby just took flight! My style of scrapbooking changes often, but a few things are consistent: I LOVE layers, muted colors, cluster embellishing, and using my sewing machine!

amy’s designs featuring products from pink paislee:

BE GRATEFUL

My first project is an 8.5×11 landscape layout, which is a size I have only worked in once before, but I really love how it turned out. I decided to actually print my photo right onto the patterned paper (Nantucket-Jumbo Shrimp to be exact), and you can just barely see the pattern come through in some spots, but I think it was a fun technique that I will be doing again in the future! I have lived next to the ocean for almost 12 years and this is the first time I have written down my sentiments about how much it means to me. The Nantucket Collection turned out to be a perfect fit for this layout.

AURELIA

My next project is little Aurelia’s 10 month layout. I knew I wanted to get a little bit techniquey on this layout, and definitely wanted to make use of the mask I got in my box! I am not normally a technique scrapper, but I do love to work with paint. I actually started my layout with a fairly large portion of the paper covered in paint that I had gone over the mask with, but unfortunately in the process of making my layout, the amount you see is not nearly as much as what is really there under all those layers! Laugh! So, instead, the paint plays a supporting role in this layout. This layout features many different collections, including the background paper, which was my first piece of Pink Paislee ever from the original Office Lingo collection!

HAVE HEART WILL EXPLORE

Ever since I saw the map paper from Daily Junque, I knew I wanted to use it for something special, but I finally took the plunge and decided to use it! The design is pretty simple, but it took lots of time to get it there. It is about all the different places I would love to visit around the world. It is a non-photo layout, which is only like the second or third I have ever done, but I am really pleased with how it turned out!

WITH ALL MY HEART

The last layout I made is about my eldest daughter, Creedence. The style of this layout is different than the others, but it can sometimes be fun to do something outside of your comfort zone. It came together fairly quickly, as I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do ahead of time and also it is a generally simple design. But there is something to be said about simplicity. I am really quite happy with it.

A huge thanks to Amy for showing off all of these amazing projects. Your daughters will be proud of your creations when they grow older.  It is obvious how much love went into each of these projects and that warm’s our hearts.

Get To Know Guest Artist Mona Pendleton

Hi there Pink Paislee fans! My name is Mona Pendleton and I’m quite honored to be here guest designing for Pink Paislee this month! I work part-time as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room of an Orthopedic Hospital and in my spare time I find it enjoyable to use the other side of my brain, playing with paper crafting products creating various projects. I first started scrapbooking too long ago to remember and that spilled over into card making, and creating home décor projects and gifts for family, friends and coworkers.

I love lots of layers, colors and find happiness in all the little details! Thank you Pink Paislee for this wonderful opportunity to create using the darling Snow Days Collection.

Mona’s project designs featuring the new snow day Collection:

Winter Themed Letter Tray

Adding glitter to our ephemera shapes is a fabulous way to add shimmer!

How cute are Mr. & Mrs. Snowman here all snuggled up?

Pretzel Treat Jar

This collection is perfect for wrapping up your food treats this holiday season!  Love the white twine with this!

Even the paper bow on top looks good enough to eat!

Our Bitty Block stickers are perfect for gift tags too!

Winter Snow Angels Layout

Mona doesn’t create layouts that often as she creates cards so having this on our blog is a real treat!

More shimmer added to our ephemera tags….so gorgeous!

One thing we love about Mona is how much detail and attention she gives to every project!  Embossing papers, die cutting papers into shapes, stitching, stamping, painting, and adding glimmer.  There isn’t anything she can’t handle!  She has a true love for papercrafting and it is obvious in everything she creates.  I am honored to show off her projects on our blog and was even lucky enough to meet her in person last September and I can tell you..she is just as sweet in person as she is online!   We have also been lucky enough to have her filling in for another team member these past few months and I am not sure we are ever going to let her go.

If this is the first time you have spotted Mona’s work then we encourage you to visit her blog and sign up to become one of her 1000+ blog followers.  (yep…she has some fans…..)  Almost everyday Mona posts new and inspiring projects so you are sure to discover new ideas!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Mona for showing us all the fabulous ways you can out our Snow Day Collection to use!  We adore it all!

Get To Know Guest Artist Wendy McKee

Hi…my name is Wendy McKee and I live in a small town in the southeast of England UK. You have no idea how thrilled I am to be here!!! Being a guest designer for Pink Paislee is a dream come true…let me tell you a bit about myself. I am trained to be a childcare provider, but after having my son seven years ago i decided to become a stay at home mum. This led to me finding this amazing hobby and to making all the new friends that I have made in that time. I also am passionate about exercise and you can often find me running along the beach or in my room at home working out.

I have a mad passion for butterflies, notepads, bright colours and chocolate. Luckily all these things i can use in this hobby so all of my passions are rolled into one.

I spend my days, exercising, scrapbooking and looking after my elderly grandparents. I can be found many nights up till 2am just putting that final touch to a page. I am lucky enough to teach workshops three times a month at my local scrapbooking shop and i also run their design team…so scrapbooking is a full time job! Thanks for having me here!

Wendy’s Designs Featuring The Vintage Vogue Collection

We love how Wendy created this adorable folded paper bag that holds these adorable clips inside.  This is a gift anyone would love to receive!

These are some of the most precious little clips.  So feminine and flirty.  Perfect for securing memos, notes or even holding those bags of chips closed!

Wendy used our collection to create this fun little canvas that can be placed in her home.  We love it when designers take our products “off the page!”

Our tiny pearl brads are the perfect touch in the center of these punched flowers. Another designer detail that adds such personality to this party invitation.

I love the contrast of the black and white photos with these papers!  Wendy shows us that Vintage Vogue patterns can be used for any theme imaginable!

It is our pleasure to feature Wendy’s designs on our blog!  We love her ability to layer and combine patterns so effortlessly! To check out more of Wendy’s paper crafting designs stop by her BLOG and say Hello!  (psst…seriously she has a super cute blog so don’t miss it!)

Get To Know Guest Artist Jess Mutty

Hello Pink Paislee peeps! You would not even believe how absolutely over the moon I am to be here today! My name is Jess Mutty and I often feel like the poster child for all things Pink Paislee, so when I heard that I would be getting to be one of the guest artists this year I cried (yes, cried!) with excitement and joy.

I live about half an hour west of Boston with my math/computer geek husband, our 20 month old son, three nutty orange cats, and a lot of dust bunnies. My love affair with crafting began when I was just a youngin’ designing Barbie clothes made out of tissues and tape and progressed to a degree in Theatre Arts/Costume Design.  After years of slaving away in theatre and dance costume shops from Pennsylvania to Maine I finally hung up my sheers to take care of my little guy (and big guy).  I still love to sew and quilt as well as bead, cook, bake, and entertain.  I have love for ancient and medieval history, in-jokes, smelling books, making up words, and general shenanigans.

Scrapping is my lifeline to myself.  I can’t go too long without fondling beautiful paper before I start to feel “off” and need a fix.  Recently I discovered that a full sixth of my paper stash is Pink Paislee.  I am working really hard to get over my hoarding (mine, all MINE!) tendencies and use these amazing products on everything I make.  I adore texture, interesting materials, and playing with color. I love layers.  I love details that make you look twice.

I am currently on the creative team at ACherryOnTop.com, on the design team for Right at Home Scrapbooking in North Attleboro MA, and I am a May Arts Cameo Ribbonista, and a teacher for Miss Art’s Papercrafting School. You can see my published work in Scrapstreet, Scrapbook News and Review, Cards, Simply Handmade, the Create series of idea books, Scrapbook Trends, and Creating Keepsakes.

Thanks for joining me today in our mutual love affair with Pink Paislee!

Jess Mutty’s designs for Pink Paislee featuring our Mistables Collection

Many of you saw this frame during the CHA Summer Show in Rosemont, IL last July but for those of you who missed our recap from the show let me be the first to show you this amazing creation from Jess. I fell in love with this project for SO MANY reasons. The first one being that I love all the tiny clips from Canvas Corp. and I love all the ways she misted those paper pennants and showed off the resist patterns on each sheet. There are just so many tiny treasures hanging here that I can’t stop looking at.

Paper + Wood Alphas + Mistables Pleat Strips…*sigh*

Mistables Fabric Flower + Journal Tag + Glitter on the Mistables Muslin Scallop Strip = love

Just inking the edges of the Muslin Scallop Strips gives it so much character

I love this teal and yellow color combination. We are also getting another look at the Mistables Fuzzy Stickers misted in teal and yellow…just lovely.

Yes…those are the Jersey Knit ribbon pleats wrapped into flowers. Did you know we did a ribbon pleat in a Jersey Knit?  Yep…soft like a t-shirt.

Jess told me in an email that she didn’t really love this one but I think she has lost her MIND.  I love everything about this including the use of our wood shape banner from the Soiree Collection and her color palette on the Mistables items! (oh..and that cute boy in his denim coveralls doesn’t hurt much either…)

You can use any color you want to match your project…this denim and coral works so well on her layout.

Jess used such a subtle amount of spray to use with our Misting Mask that you almost miss it here but if you look behind the green Mistables Fuzzy Sticker you will see the circle pattern emerge ever so delicately.  This is one of my favorites too!  Bold and yet soft…

Jess got to add some of our Daily Junque printed tissue to this one too!

This girl has some serious patience..but the results are well worth it!

If you didn’t already understand what our Mistables Products were all about then this layout should make you say “ah ha!”  These products are begging for color. You GET TO ADD that color by yourself. It is unique that way. The resist patterns and surfaces will come alive with your artistic eye and your techniques. If you don’t have these products yet you better grab them quick before everyone else catches on. In this layout Jess managed to create a visual color wheel to show us how just 1 piece of paper can be transformed into art (and isn’t it amazing?)

Jess!!!!!!!  You know we heart you.  We are HUGE fans and we can’t wait to see what you create in the future.  Your Mistables samples have really shown us what you can do to add color and creativity to a blank slate.  Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your talents with everyone on the Pink Paislee blog.  If you would like to see more of Jess’ work just CLICK HERE to visit her blog.
