Get To Know Guest Artist Amy Heller

Hi Pink Paislee Fans! My name is Amy Heller and I am SO thrilled to be here!! I’ve been an artist all my life. Drawing cartoon characters from a very young age, then becoming interested in paper crafting in middle school. I remember embellishing a report with all sorts of colorful designs cut from construction paper and glued on with a glue stick – I was mesmerized with paper.

Throughout high school I collected stationary, studied calligraphy, typography and graphic design. I loved boxed note cards and often dreamed of becoming a stationer. I knew with certainty I wanted to pursue design as a career, which I did. I studied art and design in college and worked as a graphic designer soon after graduating. I worked in the industry for 8 years before having my daughter and becoming mostly SAHM and freelance designer.

My design and creativity primarily took form on my computer. That was until 2004. We moved cross-country from Washington state to Connecticut for my husband to attend graduate school. At that point I became a full-time Mom and my freelance work was put on hold. At my husband’s school, I met a group of women that held a monthly scrapbooking group. I LOVED it instantly. The products were beautiful and this new hobby gave me the ability to document our growing family, while providing me with a much-needed creative outlet. However, it wasn’t until 2008, after my son was born, that scrapbooking became my true passion and obsession. Then in 2009 I discovered cardmaking and blogging. At that point it was all over, I was completely hooked and my design “office” officially became my craft room!

I’ve been fortunate to have been published in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, and Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazines. I love experimenting with paper techniques and tend to have a fun, whimsical and colorful scrapping style. I love to layer, mix color and patterns and play with my title work and letterforms.

I live in a small town in Connecticut with my wonderful husband of 11 years, our daughter, 8, son, 5 and our super dog, Cody, 11.

I am absolutely thrilled to be here this month with Pink Paislee and hope you enjoy my work!

Get To Know Guest Artist Steph Devlin

Hey Pink Paislee Lovers, I can’t believe Im here !!!  Here’s just some stuff about me ….   I was a full time dancer, who has a degree in choreography, a diploma in Interior Design and Certificate in Color Consulting. I am obsessed by color, and I think that is what drew me to scrapbooking, being able to express my love of color in a creative forum using pictures of my kids.  Just perfect! I’m now a full time mum, studying Graphic Design.  My family consists of 2 gorgeous girls, Emma (7) and Madison (3).  They are like Day and Night both in looks and in personalities, a wonderful hubby and a very neurotic dog named “Shakespeare”.

I prefer to scrap during the day in natural light.  I am absolutely hopeless at night.  Its my surfing the computer time !!!!  My scrapping style is very feminine, eclectic and hybrid.  I love using digital images on my work, especially text, and have a obsession with blooms and all things pretty.  I go from Pastels to Brights in a heartbeat.  To me, scrapping is  another expression of my art, but REVEL the fact that my artwork can surround images of my girls who I adore.

I am a contracted writer for Scrapbooking Memories Australia, and my artwork has been published in CK both in the US and Australia and just recently S.M.M. Scrapbooking in Sweden, Scrapbooking Russia and Scrapbooking Trends UK.  I am also a Co-Founder & Designer of The Color Room, a challenge site designed to challenge visual artists through color challenges.

Thanks so much for having me ….. I adore it here.

Steph’s Creations For Pink Paislee:

Celebrate Life:

I love the way PP’s products all work with each other.  I have used the Daily Junke Tissue Paper as a ruffle around this layout.  The other product I mixed into the gorgeous Soiree, was the Butterfly Garden Stamps, the image on Transparency adding some depth to the layout and interest to the cake stand.

Eat More Cake (Card)

Party Hat

I had so much fun with this.  The colors just scream playful and this hat seemed like the perfect thing to create.

Wings

Mask

This was another fun project that I loved making.  It has Soiree’s gorgeous diamentes and jewels hanging from it added a bit of glamour to excentuate the beautiful femininity of Butterfly Garden images.

Thank You Steph!

Each project above is unique in its own right and honestly we can’t pick a favorite.  Allowing Steph to work with both our Soiree collection and the Butterfly Garden collection showed us she is a girl with many talents!  We feel truly honored to feature her work here on our blog and we are humbled by what she has created with our fabulous products!  Love Love Love!

Get To Know Guest Artist Jenny Chesnick

Hi Pink Paislee fans! My name is Jen Chesnick, I go by Chez too.  A long time family nickname that I married into and it just kind of took on a life of its own.  I sell cheese and crackers by day for Kraft Foods and by night I craft, scrapbook, obsess over Pinterest & Facebook. Not only am I a social media addict I watch almost all reality TV shows; it’s quite ridiculous.  Remember The Real World? That’s where it ALL started.  When I am not cooped up in the house I like to travel, and don’t be shocked but I love to camp.  As long as I have wi-fi and a power strip all is well in the world.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 after seeing one of my Mothers’ scrapbooks. I’ve always been a pretty crafty gal.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are of making crafts in Girl Scouts and patching together random fabric pieces making clothes. Paper crafting has turned into a full on obsession.  I teach locally  as well as work for a few manufactures.  I am delighted and honored to be a part of Pink Paislee if only for a month.  Soirée is the epitome of my style.  Bright bold colors, and fun and funky embellishments that are just amazing.  Thanks for having me here! I hope I have inspired you!

Jen’s Designs For Pink Paislee {Featuring The Soiree Collection}

If you haven’t already fallen totally in love with our Soiree collection you will after seeing how quick and easy it is to create a “festive” centerpiece using our Flag Sticks and Stickers.  We love how Jen used wooden spools to hold the little wooden sticks upright.  Super cute and clever.

I just wish I was the guest of honor at this Soiree!  how adorable is this hat?  Perfect for any little one blowing out his or her candles.  We really love how Jen created a fringe border out of our large Polka Dot Paper.

Ummm…..yes! I would show up for this bash for sure after receiving this adorable invite.  Our matching twine is the perfect touch.

Ok seriously…with ribbons and badges and accordion flowers all the rage right now this is the perfect finishing touch to this amazingly festive celebration creation!  Jen you have totally gotten us in the mood to party!  The bling, the shimmer, and all the party planning touches are just perfect.

Are you ready to Celebrate?  Then party on over to JENS BLOG to admire more of her fabulous design work; she has tons of projects featured there and each one of them is amazing!

We are so thrilled and honored to have Jen’s work featured here on our blog this weekend and we hope you have enjoyed her “celebration” of paper crafting as much as we have!

Get To Know Guest Artist Diane Brodeur

Hi Pink Paislee Fans!  My name is Diana and I work full time as an Information Security Officer at a local bank. It was here that I was introduced to scrapbooking by a coworker in 2004. I have always loved being crafty and scrapbooking quickly became the perfect creative outlet for me to express my thoughts and feelings on paper. Several years later, I feel so lucky to have had some of layouts published in magazines as well as to have had the pleasure to design for manufacturers and kit clubs

My main scrapping love is 12×12 layouts but I also like to dabble in cards and altered items when inspiration strikes me. My style is simple with some shabby chic thrown in for good measure. I have two little girls, Aryanna and Jaina, who are the main subjects of my layouts. I make a guest appearance in them from time to time as well but my daughters are just so much more fun to scrap!

Diana’s Designs for Pink Paislee (featuring the Butterfly Garden Collection)

2 Hearts

2 Hearts – Detail

When we say it is the designer details that make a difference we really mean it.  Not only did Diana capture the sweetest photo of her daughters on Valentine’s Day but she reinforced the journaling by adding the punched paper hearts to create a focal point on a solid background.  Using the text stamp in our Butterfly Garden set over those paper hearts was another clever use of product that adds so much!

Bike Ride

Bike Ride – Detail

Seeing this layout just confirms what we already knew!  Our papers and embellishments are so universal that you really can use them for any layout no matter what the theme might be!  Diana successfully turned a vintage garden inspired collection into a fun layout that focuses on bike riding.  The vintage bike image is included in our Ephemera Pack.  So fun!

Cookies

Adding a butterfly border punch to this layout – genius!

Coffee

Coffee – Detail

This is so vintage and soft we are just in LOVE!  The wood shape looks amazing and rich just like a cup of coffee!  And oh my….those ephemera die cut pieces again have us swooning.

Diana proved that you don’t have to get locked into one theme when using your scrapbook supplies.  Use the design elements to reinforce and connect your photos to your story!  We are so thrilled to be able to feature Diana’s work here on our blog and we hope you have enjoyed our featured artist inspiration this month!

Be sure to visit Diana’s blog to see more!  (which by the way is totally full of even more eye candy…..)

Tanisha’s Designs For Pink Paislee (featuring the sweetness collection)

Seriously? 36?

We love how Tanisha took pieces of our patterned papers to create this amazing collage  / artsy style layout.  And..the stitching through those foam letters is A-mazing.

Waiting

All the “fussy cutting” on this layout has us staring and looking for more hidden pieces.  Love how she inked the corrugated butterflies and added them as a small detail throughout the page.

Valentine’s Candy & Card Set

What can we say?  we love the yellow and red color combination on this set.  We also adore how she added glitter to those foam letters – and using our clear card for the front flap….genius!

You Spin Me Round

As soon as I saw this card the song “you spin me right round baby right round” popped into my head!  This is SO CUTE!  The pinwheel straws and the metal badge center…*sigh* just too adorable!

Tanisha we just have to THANK YOU for putting us in the mood for Valentine’s Day in addition to inspiring us with your art.  I know you waited 12 LONG MONTHS to have your guest feature here on our blog and I can tell you that it was definitely worth the wait!
