Layering can seem intimidating, but today I want to show you that layering can be as simple as changing the adhesive you use. Helmar is one of our partnering companies, and I will show you how using up to three or even four different adhesives can give you the lift you need with layering paper.
1. Start your base and second layer with a very strong adhesive runner or liquid adhesive such as Helmar’s Quickfix Adhesive Runner or Premium Craft Glue. This gives my layout a great start to layering. I know that my layers aren’t going to fall off later while in my page protector.
2. For layers two, three, and four use Helmar’s Scrap Dots to give lift. This is a three dimensional glue that gives you as much lift as you need. I love using this glue on small items that foam squares can’t fit on. It goes on wet so that you can pull or push the item to where it needs to go. It takes a while to dry so try not to lean on your page as you continue.
3. Add twine for some texture on the page. Just thread through the banner pieces and tie at the end. No worries about getting foam squares to fit. Just add a dollop of Scrap Dots to the back of each one. Helmar’s 450 Quick Dry holds the knots in place so that you can put the bunting exactly where it needs to go.
4. London Market’s chipboard buttons already have some lift to them so use 450 Quick Dry again to add it to the page. It has the perfect hold for chipboard and wood elements.
Still not sure how easy it can be? Watch the video below to see this layout’s process from beginning to end.
