Quotes {party favors}

Hello everyone!  Andrea here, and ready to share something sweet for this week’s “Quotes” theme.  I love simple messages.  Something to make my heart smile.  When I first came across “to new beginnings & happy endings” in the Spring Jubilee rub-on collection it did just that, put a big smile on my face.  There are many moments where this can apply and pairs perfectly with a basket of sweet treats for any celebration.

Began by painting a wooden box white.  Used the insert/packaging from Expressions Wood Shop to help create a border that goes along the bottom of the box and label.  Added a partial rub-on from Spring Jubilee, the girls and boys, under the labels.  And finally added a cut out butterfly from London Market Royal Charm onto of a Mistable Fabric Flower which was added to the mesh cut out on top of the box.

Created these little treat holders using London Market paper.  Begin with 6″ x 6″ square, scoring in half twice (to create 4 squares) and then diagonal two times (to create a total of eight sections).  Cut paper in half along one diagonal line, creating two halves.  Fold along scored marks into a triangle and adhere one end section with the other.  Trim excess paper from front of cone.  Punch a hole in the back of cone and add ribbon.  Die cut circles and scallop for label, adhere together and stamp.  Add to front of cone using mini clothespin.  Stamp butterfly from London Market clear stamps, cut out and mount onto front of cone.  Add your favorite treats!

Quotes {Use Alphas}

Happy Monday all!  It’s Corrie here and I am going to show you a layout that I made using a quote as my title.  Quotes can be pretty long, but they can be the perfect way to journal and title a page.  Plus, there are usually a few words that really tell the entire meaning you are trying to get across.  A helpful way to get across your true meaning is to use the different Pink Paislee alphas in a creative and meaningful way.  Here is my page…

“May you live everyday of your life.” -Jonathan Swift

The meaning I really wanted to get across to these girls was “live life”, so I knew these two words really needed to be the highlight of my title.  I pulled out the different alphas and began laying them out.  Using different size alphas really helps to emphasize different words in either your title or journaling.

The smallest alphas were perfect for the most insignificant parts of the quote and I gradually increased the size of the alphas to show the increasing meaning of the rest of the quote.

Pinterest Inspiration {buttons!}

Hey everyone!  Roree here, and today I want to share a layout I created that was inspired by a pin I found on Pinterest.

I love, love, love Pinterest.  It is my go-to place for inspiration.  No matter what I am looking for inspiration for:  scrapbooking, crafts, food, fashion, etc, etc… I can find it there. I went looking through my Pinterest boards specifically for today’s project and while I was there, I found this pin:

(image from Pinterest)

I just love all of the button images, in all shapes and sizes, mixed with the stitched images.  I just yelled out “Pick Me!”

Here is the layout I created using this image for inspiration:

I decided to use the new Prairie Hill collection for my project the Chipboard Pops package was filled with chipboard circle that reminded me of buttons.  But instead of just using circles, I mixed it up a bit and added Element Stickers, Accolade Stickers, Buttons, Expressions Wood Shop Alphas, Bitty Blocks Alphas, Ribbon, and hand stitching.  It made for a fun collage of scrappy goodness!

And since the layout uses Prairie Hill and it is about myself,  the fun messages like “You Deserve It” and “The Sky’s The Limit” are just added inspiration for myself.

Pinterest Inspiration {decorated kraft bags}

Hello! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Tamara here with a project to share for ‘Pinterest Inspiration Week!’ I went with something simple AND useful and created a giftbag! The original idea for the project came from THIS Pinterest pin showing an altered lunch/kraft bag with a simple doilie, paper flower, and stamping. I of course put my own spin on it with a beautiful Pink Paislee touch using the ‘London Market’ collection. I just love the ‘shabby’ feel to it!

Here’s my bag! I didn’t have any lunch bags handy, so I created my own bag from kraft paper.  In place of the doilie, I used an accordian folded half circle. I embellished the half circle with some washi/paper tape, pin, flowers, bird die cut, stamp die cut, label die cut and buttons. I thought it would be fun to close the bag with some seam binding ribbon!

I hope you are inspired to make a few gift bags of your own! You can keep them super simple, or really frill and bling them up! It’s nice to have a premade lunch bag and just have fun decorating it! You can also cut them down a bit for shorter bags, add handles, etc. And the whole ‘brown/kraft paper’ look is VERY in right now! I love it!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1). Find a paper/kraft bag to alter.

2). Trim a piece of Pink Paislee’s London Market paper to fit over the front, leaving a little of the kraft bag showing on the edges. Ink edges a bit.

3). Create an accordian folded half circle with two strips of paper 3.5″ high and 11″ wide. Scor and fold every .25″. Adhere the two strips together, and then adhere to the bag with hot glue. Ink edges.

4). Cut a half circle (about 3.50″ wide) with the grey polkadot paper. Stamp images using London market’s clear stamps (and yes, I realize one is upside down… I stamped randomly all over the paper). Embellish edges with washi/paper tape and adhere over accordian folded half circle.

5). Embellish with die cuts, pin, buttons and flowers. The beautiful die cuts can be found in the Ephemera London Market pack!

6). Finish off the bag with a ribbon to keep it closed.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!
