Yellow makes me happy…

Happy Monday! Today is my day for Monochromatic Monday, and I’ve been really loving the color yellow, so I chose to mix a few of Pink Paislee’s lines together to create a “Happy-go-Lucky” page. I chose some fun pictures of my girls jumping on our trampoline. We bought one in April and weren’t sure how much they were going to use it, but they love it. As it turns out, they use it almost every day together. I love their expressions when they are jumping! In Photoshop, I chose 4 pictures I liked and put them together on one document to print out on a 4×6″ piece of photo paper.

To create my background, I misted over a Crafter’s Workshop stencil with Candlelight Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels right over the Sweetness – Pretty Lace background paper. It’s a slightly darker yellow, so it adds a nice detail to the page without overpowering the photos. It also adds a place for my journaling!

The sticker letters are from the Old School line and the stamped stars and cork buttons are from the 365 Degrees line. I used some chipboard stars from my stash and wanted to keep them gray, so I sprayed them with Graphite Glimmer Mist to make them a shade darker and pop off of the page a little more.

The star border is from the Starlight line. When I decided to go with yellow, I pulled out all of the yellow things from the lines, then narrowed down what I wanted to use.

I hope you will try a monochromatic page too!

Monochromatic Monday

Happy Monday! Today is Monochromatic Monday, and I have chosen this beautiful lime green to work with today.  Lime is one of my most favorite colors. I have shades of green in many rooms in my house, so I thought I’d make a candle set to put in my den.  I decorated both candles in the same fashion, making them match but not exactly the same.

Monochromatic to me is using all the same color in various tones. What I first did was to go through my Pink Paislee products and pick out items with this green in them. You  can see that I mixed and matched my collections, and have added a few tones of beige as well.

For my candles, I first took a layer of green paper ( Bayberry Cottage Front Porch & 365 degrees Imagine) then matted on top of that a lined paper ( Starlight Shine). Just underneath the bottom edge I added a cut off edge of die cut paper (BayBerry Cottage Porch Swing).

Each candle has a punched lined paper top edge (Starlight Shine) but only one of them is added under the paper. After this was done, I wrapped my papers around the candles and proceeded to decorate them.

First I wrapped a bit of dotted ribbon around the middle of the candle.

I used Bayberry Cottage Punch Outs for the diecuts in the center, adding those on top of the ribbon. I added sewing pattern tissue flowers topped with silk flowers and a button tied with a bit of twine, then sprayed with a glitter spray.

I added some Cricut cut out leaves underneath both flowers. I also added a few small glitter flowers from an alphabet sheet ( Expressions Glittered Alphabet Limeaid). I also added a small bow tucked in underneath my flower.

Lastly I added gems to my candles, there is just nothing like a little glitz by candlelight. I added a strip of gems along the top, just above the green paper mats, I also added several to the glitter chipboard flowers and some on top of each circle diecut along the bottom of the candle.

Have a terrific Monday!

Pirate in the house!!

Hey guys…I hope you are well & having a super day so far??? It is a public holiday here today…Heritage day I think haha! I’m a shocker aren’t I, that I don’t even know for sure, but I didn’t need much encouragement to do very little today. I enjoyed a fun day with my little boy while his Daddy worked. Talking about my little boy….he is the subject of my project today. Being Thursday I have Trends as my theme…..together with the funky Twilight line.

We don’t officially celebrate halloween here in SA, so I don’t have typical halloween scrapping ‘ammo’, but I wasn’t fazed though. This line is SO versatile & I had a blast putting together this page. It is an interview I recorded with my little boy….oh ah…sorry, I mean…. the scary ‘Captain Cutlass’. (His answers to the interview were so cute & funny…..take a look.)

For the trend angle of the page…I thought I’d highlight eyelets today. Over the last little while they have really made a come back into ‘scrapping fashion’ again. I LOVE using them in all manner of ways…this time I used them to attach my stars to the page.

I really hope I have inspired you to go & hunt for those eyelets & give using them a bash again. I am excited to see how you use them too NB: Link us up in the comments then we can all take a peek :)

So have yourselves a super day!!
Aaaarh! (hehe! couldn’t resist that)

It’s Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Well being Wednesday means it is wacky……and wacky we have, with a big paper mix up!! It was a good friend’s birthday the other day & I wanted to create something special for her in the way of a birthday pack. She is such a fun loving crazy gal so there was no question, it had to be bright & fun!

I am trying to be more ‘green’ about my scrapping these days & having a huge box of PP off cuts, I decided to use some of them up rather than just binning them. For the card, I cut myself a variety of  mini box shapes & layered them in a pile on the base card using different thicknesses of 3D puff tape. Then  tied some of them with ribbons & braid adding glitter for birthday sparkle. I suggest you use a fast drying glue like ‘mono’, sprinkle a layer of glitter lightly over the glued areas & wait for them to dry. Tap off any loose glitter….& Voila!! pretty finishes in a flash!

I left a little teeny white tag on the front of the pink parcel for me to write my buddy’s name :o )

She wanted some fancy face lotion for her present, but being a tricky shape I needed to find a suitable package design. After doing a bit of net-surfing I found a GREAT tutorial here for the perfect box. It is SUPER easy to make, even for me who tends to be ‘instruction challenged’ at the best of times :o ) And it only used one piece of card stock with bits ‘n pieces for decoration.

Here is the collection of papers I used…. pleasant enchanting, enthralling fascinating, eye popping fascinating, fast track office lingo, sugar pie sweet cakes, cutie pie sweet cakes, lovey dovey sweet cakes, office lingo lunch hour, office lingo cubicle, fascinating press ons, fascinating chip die cuts , coconut pixiee stix and last but not least fascinating sticker strips.

Well you lovlies,  I sure hope these have inspired you to try some yourselves :o )

Remember to carry on uploading your gorgeous projects into the Pink gallery….I know I speak for all of us here at Pink Paislee, when I say that every day we continue to be amazed by your creativity, thank-you!

Super Sunday!

Hello there everybody!!. It is a glorious Sunday, is it not??? Here in Cape Town, the sun shining & the rains have passed, I hope where ever you are, you are having a super long-Memorial-weekend , filled with sunshine too & you are getting a chance to spend some time with your families?

Talking about families….I am going to be an Aunt for the first time…yahooo! & together with the rest of my family we are SOOO excited about the arrival of this little babe . So I thought in honor of this special weekend,  I’d use family as my theme for my blog post this month.

My page is of my brother & sister-in-law and how much joy this little princess has already brought them (and us…I had forgotten how much fun is is to shop for a baby girl).
I thought I’d put a page together to showcase the pregnancy and their latest scans in a discreet way….you will notice in the top left corner I stopped the stitching short to leave a little pocket for the scans to be slipped into.

I used Captivating~Beautiful as my main paper choice with that cute scalloped paper frame from the Office ling range. These co-ordinated beautifully  with a gorgeous blue linen flower, where I substituted the center button with a glossy black brad from the Fascinating range. The blue lace is from the Sweet cakes ribbon set & the chipboard & sticker elements are from the Enchanting & Fascinating lines. The little stamped frames for my baby quotes & rub-ons are from the Pop Fashion line.

I love how all the Pink Paislee ranges work so well together. No chance of ever running out of variety or fun stuff to use on my pages. Now, remember we LOVE getting the chance to enjoy your creative & inspiring pages…so be sure to keep uploading them into the gallery!

Have a super day!
