Core’dinations Blog Hop: Day 1

Hello! All this week on the Pink Paislee blog, we will be showcasing projects that combine the Core’dinations cardstock patterns with Pink Paislee papers and embellishments! Did you know Core’dinations makes cardstock to match our lines?  We call it our Modern Prints collection and the colors and patterns are a must have this season!

Be sure to read the bottom of this blog post to find out all the ways you can enter to win some prizes this week as we team up with the design team over at Core-dinations to host this fun Blog Hop Party!

First, I have a layout to share. Check out the texture in this beautiful cardstock! I used a little bit of Mister Huey Calico White mist and sprayed it on the cardstock. On the yellow piece, I just used my hand and swiped the mist over the embossed design before it dried. On the brown, I left the little paint splotches as the mist fell on my page.

I cut some 2″ circles from red cardstock and stamped them with a stamp from the Phantom line. It actually says “beware” in the center of the stamp, but I covered that up with the punched leaves from the Nantucket line.

I chose a Nantucket Trading Card that says, “playful” to tuck behind the photo and a “peek-a-boo” saying from the Nantucket Ephemera. See the script over the top of the yellow cardstock? That is a Butterfly Garden Press On. I love to add layers!

I finished the page off with printed journaling that says, “Thankful for your energy, your determination, your sweet soul. I love you, Mom. 10-29-10″. I added a “counting my blessings” stamp from my stash by Papertrey Ink.

Next, I have a couple of quick cards to share made with Core’dinations cardstock and the Butterfly Garden line!

I sanded the brown cardstock down to reveal the yellow center, so pretty.  I used more Core’dinations cardstock for the leaf and background for my Butterfly Garden -Ephemera and Butterfly Garden -Baubles.

This next card utilizes a Butterfly Garden Clear Stamp (doily shape) and Butterfly Garden Ephemera.

You can see I’ve used leftover cardstock from my layout to create these cards! The “little things” is a stamp from my stash by Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and be sure to stop by each day this week for more cardstock inspiration!

Vicki Boutin Designs Myrtle Beach Wood Album

This month on the blog the team will be showcasing our amazing Nantucket Collection that will be shipping to stores in about 12 days!  This collection is extremely versatile and full of modern prints which will make them MUST HAVE items for your scrap studio!  The papers are elegant, upscale and full of geometric prints which are all the rage at the moment.

During the CHA Show everyone fell in love with the Myrtle Beach Mini Album designed by Vicki Boutin so we just knew we need to feature it here on our blog!  Vicki used our Mistables Wood Album, Mistables Chipboard Alphabet, The Nantucket Collection and our new Core’dinations Cardstock pack to create this amazing piece of art.

In Vicki’s Own Words

“I love to create minibooks!  I feel such a sense of completion when I make a pretty little album and fill it with lots of scrappy goodness and photos.  I also have a passion for paints, inks and misting.  When I received the new Mistables Wood Album, Wood shapes, Nantucket collection and Nantucket Core Impressions from Core’dinations I new just what I wanted to do with it all!!  That is how this Myrtle Beach minibook came to be!

I started by adding Glimmer Mist to the wood album and letting it dry.  I then dry brushed the covers with white paint.  Finally, I added brown ink to make the wood looked distressed.  These layers of mist, paint and ink gave the wood album a beachy, aged wood look.  The other wood pieces were lightly misted and the Mistables Chipboard letters were inked with Distress Ink.

I swapped the inside pages of the album with the Nantucket Core Impressions Embossed cardstock and I lightly sanded the pages to enhance the texture.

The Nantucket Ephemera and Trading cards worked perfectly to fill the interior pages of the album.

The color and theme possibilities with the Mistables and Wood Shapes are endless!  I can’t wait to play some more and see what all of you come up with too!!!

Well Hello Core’dinations Cardstock Loveliness

We are so super excited about this lovely pack of Core Impressions Embossed Cardstock!  Our very own Pink Paislee pack is now available through Core’dinations.  We took some of the fabulous prints from our Nantucket collection and converted them into embossed and sandable cardstock patterns.  Appropriately named the Modern Prints Collection we are just in love with these colors and the endless creative possibilities! The paper pack includes 4 patterns in all 5 colors…and if you look closely you will see that we added a special honeycomb pattern to match our new hexagon chipboard shapes below!  These chipboard shapes will fit within the embossed area just perfectly!

In the coming weeks we will be showing off these cardstock papers in greater detail but we wanted to make sure you knew this fabulous pack was going to be available this AUGUST at your favorite retailer!
