Did you know??

……that there is 30 sleeps, 10 hours, 10 minutes & ?? seconds until Christmas.

Wow! has this year gone by fast or what??

Well, today I hope I can help get you into the Christmas spirit, by sharing a cute page that is full of Christmas joy. But first in honor of it being Tasty Tuesday (& the fact that I got my page themes mixed up :o )  Here is frame I did as part of my Christmas home decor. I love that almost every store I go into right now, has these delish little candy canes for sale at the till points and I can never resist grabbing a couple every time I go shopping. I think the smell of peppermint candy will forever remind me of Christmas!!

I have loved the spread of the Mistletoe collection that has been all over my scrap table for the last while. The papers & embellishments have such a feel-good vibe about them, that they were calling to be loved into a scrap page for my parents. This is the result.

Before I get started, please enjoy this basic Spray mist tutorial  I put together using a decorative plastic spray template. Notice the box I use to spray into? I kept one of my UPS 12″x12″ boxes to spray into. I find it easily  catches all the extra mist & is portable, depending on where i am scrapping in the house :o )

Using a  piece of Cupid-Love Potion patterned paper, I created a custom background with the help of my mist & templates . I chose star shapes to compliment my page theme, keeping them off center to the left leaving space for my other papers & embellishments. Then using the Mistletoe & Co collection, I layered press onspunch-outsborder linespost cardsexpressions glitter alphas together with a collection of the patterned papers to put this page together.

The addition of a pretty ribbon tie, gathered cotton lace & paper flower finished the page off nicely as wall art for my parents who live in the UK & won’t get to spend Christmas with us this year.

I hope this page has inspired you to get ready for some of your fave Christmas shots. Thanks for stopping by & make sure to upload your projects into the community gallery for everyone to enjoy.

Have a super day!

Sketch Saturday~ !ole! (Bravo! or Cheer! in spanish)

(I’ve got you guessing haven’t I ???)
How many of you like to use sketches?

I love them…… I have found over the years of scrapping so much, that they really help my creative process, especially when I am on a tight time limit. I have found that whenever I have a snippet of free time, I like to sketch my L.O ideas or plans into a small note book in my purse, then transfer them to my sketch file when I get home. The other day I was showing my friend Melody this file & was I  shocked at just how many I have accumulated over the last little while. She, also a scrapper, lit up & said, “So, when are these going in to a book for your nearest & dearest, dahling?” hahaha! Well I don’t know about the book but as for my nearest & dearest that would be all you gorgeous people who faithfully read & comment on our blog!

So compliments of Moi! to you…here is a sketch that I hope you will find very helpful.

With halloween & thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I’d mix it up a bit & focus on something I am SO grateful I had the opportunity to pursue for half my life.  I used the new Twilight Collection & a bit from the Amber Road Collection from Pink Paislee to do it. Up until I got married & had children, Flamenco dancing was a HUGE part of my life; this page is to remember my love of the dance.

Using Twilight – Horizon 00219, I cut myself a frame & overlayed Twilight – Sunset 00215 inside as my base page. For my scalloped strips I used Amber Road – Bonfire 00205Amber Road – Fall Festival 00207 . For the flower sprinkles, I cut out a few flowers from Amber Road – Autumn Blossom 00202 & using an Amber Road – Patches 00210 I made a little flower layered with tulle (Kimmi’s brilliant idea see this post for details) .

The big flower on the right hand side is layers of gauged tissue paper with the center filled with tiny pearl beads. I even snuck a journal block under the flower from the New Cupid line – Postcards 00242. A bit of journaling & stitching & all done!

Well that’s my post for today…I hope you can make use of it.

Have a super weekend!

Pirate in the house!!

Hey guys…I hope you are well & having a super day so far??? It is a public holiday here today…Heritage day I think haha! I’m a shocker aren’t I, that I don’t even know for sure, but I didn’t need much encouragement to do very little today. I enjoyed a fun day with my little boy while his Daddy worked. Talking about my little boy….he is the subject of my project today. Being Thursday I have Trends as my theme…..together with the funky Twilight line.

We don’t officially celebrate halloween here in SA, so I don’t have typical halloween scrapping ‘ammo’, but I wasn’t fazed though. This line is SO versatile & I had a blast putting together this page. It is an interview I recorded with my little boy….oh ah…sorry, I mean…. the scary ‘Captain Cutlass’. (His answers to the interview were so cute & funny…..take a look.)

For the trend angle of the page…I thought I’d highlight eyelets today. Over the last little while they have really made a come back into ‘scrapping fashion’ again. I LOVE using them in all manner of ways…this time I used them to attach my stars to the page.

I really hope I have inspired you to go & hunt for those eyelets & give using them a bash again. I am excited to see how you use them too NB: Link us up in the comments then we can all take a peek :)

So have yourselves a super day!!
Aaaarh! (hehe! couldn’t resist that)

Tasty Tuesday it is!

With Spring in the air….we thought a little celebration was in order & treated ourselves to a picnic tea in the garden. No tea party is complete without a plate of these delicious tasting petite-fours; they one of our family’s favourite sweet treats & come from a quaint little bakery down the road run by an elderly baker & his sweet wife.

This layout although not deep & meaningful, was a load of fun to put together…..I had a blast creating the layered paper flowers & pin wheel in a little flower pot,  using papers from the Fascinating line, Enchanting line, Captivating line, Office lingo and Spring fling.

The sweet little chipboard butterfly was given a touch of sparkle using Pixee Glitter with hand stitched little feelers in green to finish him off.  The title is a combination of alphas from the sticker books, Winsome alphas & Fashion Script Alphas and the rubons add cute finishing touches.

If you are keen to try & make one of these super easy pin wheels, head over to this link for the instructions.

Well that’s all for today folks! Remember to upload your projects into our gallery over at live pink . I am sure I speak for everyone when I say, it’s always amazing to be able to look at all your beautiful, creative projects daily.

Cheers until next month.

Yummy Tuesday!

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far???
Mine is fantastic (in case you were wondering) because this is my first blog post for Pink Paislee *yay!* and my laptop is back from the workshop. The tech guy said there was some weird registry thing wrong with it that usually manifests (ooh! sounds creepy) by blocking all external ports & all my photoshop .exe files. A week without photoshop was pure torture I tell you! So being able to type this post & upload images, is heaven for me right now :o )

But enough about my war stories….I have a cute page I want to share with you using ‘Sweet cakes line’, that will be sure to get your taste buds going. Being ‘Yummy Tuesday’ my page is appropriately about my daughter & her love of baking. She is only 10yrs old & still getting the hang of cooking….so we have more flops than successes right now but her enthusiasm is so cute. I made this page with x3 of her favourite recipes to help her in her quest to become ‘a prize chef’ (her words :o ).

Inspired by a fellow scrapper who LOVES adding recipes to her pages, I tried something a little different and made removable ‘recipe cards’ by using the sweet cakes postcards, that my DD can use if she wants to.

When I started I was thinking ‘apron ‘…..which inspired the ‘pocket’ in front to hold the cards…then I thought ‘cupcakes’…so tried my hand at paper piecing with brad sprinkles…..that sparked the ‘lolly’ idea using the sweet cakes ‘sweet nothings’ paper and ribbons, and before I knew it I had a page filled with little ‘food’ related elements.

When my DD saw this page she exclaimed “Mama, this ROCKS!!”…I’d have to say if she likes it,
it was a success :o )

I sure hope this will inspire you to try something similar too? Now remember if to upload your L.O’s into our gallery for us all to ‘oggle over…OK!

Have yourselves a super day!
~Kim!
