Thursday’s Trend – Ribbon Flowers

Since Valentine’s Day is almost here, I decided that I wanted to do a “love” themed page. I combined some of the new Bayberry Cottage line with the 365 Degrees line. I love the reds and greens with the houndstooth pattern!

One trend I have been seeing lately is handmade flowers. I love them. VERY MUCH! Here I’ve made one with the red pleated ribbon, and I’ll show you how! I have also noticed a trend using vellum for titles and journaling lately, so I wanted to try that look on my page. I didn’t use vellum though, just printed right onto the patterned paper. The font is called Edwardian.

Here is how I made the ribbon flower:

That’s it, very easy! One more thing I wanted to share about my page is regarding the houndstooth letters. I was all out of an L, V and E that I needed for the title. So I had to make do with the letters I had left. I cut a T into an L, cut a Y down to make a V and cut an 8 to make an E. Can you tell I REALLY wanted the houndstooth title on my page?!

Thanks for stopping by,
