Love Week: {Heart} You Each Day

Hi Everyone, Piradee here and welcome to Day 3 of our Love Week.

Today I wanted to share this cute layout I made using the Snow Day collection of dear hubby;  just a little something to say Thank You for being the wonderful person that he is.   I opted to keep the overall design of the layout simple, in order to emphasize on the fun confetti heart. **shake shake**

For my big confetti heart – I first cut the shape out with my die cut machine and then gathered all the little bits and pieces of confetti to be included and headed to the sewing machine.

Tip for smaller areas :: do try to include the confetti as you’re sewing the pieces together.  In my case for the smaller heart area, I initially thought that I could add the confetti in afterwards, but only then realized that I had sown the pieces together too tight and therefore couldn’t squeeze much there… (or then again, I might just be adding too much…lol)

And for my title, I used the wood shop alphabets (wood chip style) with a bit of brown mist to make the letters  pop against the pattern paper and also added in some glitter alphabet stickers from the sweetness collection for that touch of yellow (my fav color at the moment).

Also when I showed hubby the layout, he was curious as to why I had selected the words “each day” and not per say “everyday”.  Well, I then told him that if he got me a super really nice present for valentine, then it would be “everyday”.  **wink**

Thanks for stopping by everyone!!!  And don’t forget to check back for more valentine inspirations this week.

Meet Creative Team Member Piradee Talvanna

Good morning! We have one more week of our design team introductions here on the Pink Paislee blog to welcome our new and returning team members. Today I hope you will help me welcome back creative team member Piradee!

A little about Piradee:

Hi Everyone, Piradee Talvanna here from Bangkok, Thailand although I’m currently working and living in Singapore with my dearest hubby.  It was when I relocated to Singapore in mid-2008 for work that I discovered and fell in love with this hobby.  For me scrapbooking not only allows me to explore and challenge my creativity but also helps me de-stress after a long day at work.

How did you get started in paper crafting?

My addiction pretty much started when I transferred to Singapore for work and happened to come across a scrapbook store at the nearby mall.  I just feel in love with the gorgeous designs of the pattern papers and the endless variations of embellishments; guess you could say I was like a little kid in a big candy store.  Also with my love of traveling and taking pictures of everything and everywhere, this is the perfect hobby for me to help capture my memories.

What inspires you to create?

Most of the time I’m inspired by the products themselves. It could be the colors in the collection, the patterns or even the fun embellishments and also I’m constantly creating first and then figuring out which pictures or story I would like to tell/capture.
Do you prefer layouts, altered projects, cards…or all of the above?

I find myself scrapping layouts more than projects or cards, but pretty much love doing anything crafty.

How would you describe your style?

Would say that I have a simple and clean style with a little twist or two.

A fun fact about you?

Went slightly overboard one time with goldfish and tried breeding them and I actually had about 300+ baby fishes in various containers all around my bathroom!

Any other hobbies?

Not sure if you could consider traveling a hobby, but when ever time permits you can find hubby and me on a plane to our next destination. We try to travel somewhere at least once a month; as we both love exploring the different culture and food!

What is your favorite Pink Paislee product?

I’m just in love with all the wooden embellishments from the various collections, especially the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterfly Garden collection and can’t get enough of the bicycle from the Nantucket collection.

Here are two gorgeous projects by Piradee! We love her layering and attention to detail!

Product Pick – Snow Day Bitty Blocks

Hi Everyone,

For this week’s product pick – it’s all about the cute Bitty Blocks alphabets from the Snow Day collection.  These are the perfect size for any project and I’m loving especially the variation in the font styles.  Here I’ve used it through out the mini album – as subtitles and also for the journaling details.  Another one of my favorite product from this collection are the Dimensional Stickers – these are just too cute and some of them even have a touch of silver color (the snow couple and “bundle up” phrase dimensional stickers were used below).

For the Bitty Blocks – you’ll being get two sets of alphabets – one in white and blue and the other set as pink and black; with 5 different font styles to play with.

And here are a few more pages from my mini album where I’ve these cute alphabets, along with various die cuts from the Snow Day ephemera pack.  Also to add a hint of sweetness to the winter colors, I included the yellow glitter sticker alphabets (and hearts) from the Sweetness collection.

And a close up of the journaling details, where I’ve mixed up the different font styles…

And a few more crazy pages of me and sis having one snowy time…

And us, just chilling out in snowy Chicago…

Hot Hues Color Inspiration November

Hi Everyone, Piradee Talvanna here to share this month gorgeous fall hot hue colors and I’m truly wishing that I could be sitting there in the park enjoying the crisp weather (as in the top left picture).

For my project, I drew inspirations not only from the combinations of colors but also from one of the images provided – the bouquet of flowers.

Using some of the pattern papers from the nantucket collection; I created series of rosette flowers in various sizes and colors and used that to create my version of the bouquet.  Also have you seen those super cute wooden hearts from the wood shop alphabet – sawdust collection?   Couldn’t resist misting them with the studio calico – orchard, before adding them on.

For the title banner, I selected one of the mistable pattern paper and sprayed it with the same orange mist before adding the bit of twine and my title details.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and would love to see what projects you’ve been creating for this season.

A Bit of Spooky

When I realized that my assignment this month included an “inspired by” post – needless to say after reading my assignment details,  I went straight to Pinterest.  It’s just amazes me with the amount of inspiration that can be found there and many a times, I wish my room looks just like that!  And when I saw this image below – I was inspired by the details within all the elements and the combination of colors that I went straight for the printer tray, grab the Phantom collection and got started working right away…

(pinterest image source)

Mixing and matching the various elements from the Phantom collection to create my version of the frames (from the above image).

And sharing some close ups of my “spooky” tray, whereby I used one of the elements stickers as my title and others through out the tray; and don’t you love that silhouette one!

And for these squares below, I also used bits of the clear transparent frames to provide a contrast against the pattern papers and at the same time, adding another layer of details…

And I couldn’t resist adding in a bit of fun with the chalkboard stickers (from the daily junque collection)…

And my favorite part of this collection – is the glossy finish on some of the patterns/design on the pattern paper.  Such as the spider and beware details (these pictures are not doing it justice); as they really add that final finishing to the project.
