Scrap With Your Stash!

Hello Pink Paislee fans! Karola here with another layout! I bet that most of us have in plenty of leftovers in our stash from Pink Paislee; so why not use them in a creative way? I found some old Pink Paislee collections and I decided to combine it with the brand new Vintage Vogue line. It turns out that this is not as hard as I thought it would be, and additionally I was able to create quite an interesting new combination of colors on the layout! I love the layers and fussy cutting, so I was happy when I found the old papers from which I could use a little bit of fussy cutting technique.

Here is my layout – just a few photos of me and a funny title:

I made a title using printed words and a few letters from Expressions Glitter Alphabets – Licorice. I still have many of these gorgeous letters, and you?

As I mentioned before – I love fussy cutting, so there are so many delicate black swirls and flowers from Bayberry Cottage – Flower Garden paper and a few little flowers cut out from  Queen Bee – 6×6 Paper Pad. I added also flowers from Vintage Vogue! So here we are a few 3d layers of different paper flowers:

Photo matting is made from Starlight – Dazzle paper – it’s looks great with Queen Bee yellow flowers!

I could not resist to use the logo of Vintage Vogue collection – as it turned out a perfect match for my title! In Pink Paislee even the packaging is very inspiring, so you better not pull out! :)

And finally I have for you a few examples of how unexpected color combos can be obtained combining Pink Paislee older collections, let’s see:

Queen Bee + Old School + Cupid + Amber Road

Starlight + Bayberry Cottage + Starlight + Cupid

Monochromatic Monday

Hi everyone! For today’s monochromatic theme I decided to go with the colour green.  I chose green because I knew the title was going to have the word green in it and I thought it would be a nice little touch.  I had a lot of fun mixing elements from both the Queen Bee and 365 Degrees lines.

I called this layout “My eyes are turning green”.  My daughter has beautiful blue eyes.  She was lucky enough to get those from her Daddy.  Well, since Mommy has green eyes, she wants to have Mommy’s eyes and she keeps insisting that her eyes are going to turn green.  When she eats broccoli she thinks the more she eats, the greener her eyes will turn. (I don’t say too much about that because I do want her to eat lots of broccoli!)

I have to say that when I found out that every Monday was going to be Monochromatic Monday at Pink Paislee, I was a bit nervous but now I embrace it. It’s so much fun to mix and match similar colours from different lines!

Expressions Glitter Alphabets, Queen Bee Punch Outs, Artisan Elements – Swirls, Artisan Tape, Expressions Whimsy Alphabets – Chocolate, Queen Bee – Bee Hive, 365 Degrees Punch Outs, Bella Brads, 365 Degrees – Imagine.

Take 5 Friday!

Hi everyone,

It’s Take 5 Friday today at the Pink Paislee blog!   For this layout I used mainly the Queen Bee line with a little splash of Bayberry Cottage.  This is my little Queen. It’s easy to get photographs of her like this because this is her preferred way to dress.  Being 5 years old is so much fun!

The 5 products that I chose to highlight with this project are:

Artisan Elements – Swirls

Bella Brads

Queen Bee Stamps

Bayberry Cottage press ons

Bayberry Cottage punch outs

The Artisan Elements are really unique and fun to work with.  Here on the swirl, I used Glimmer Mist to tint it. The Artisan Element that I used for my “Queen” title is one of the centers from the Artisan Elements frames.  I stamped on it using the “Queen” from the Queen Bee stamp set and Staz On ink.  It was a perfect surface to use clear stamps on. It has just enough cushion that I got a crisp and even image.

The reason I chose the Bayberry Cottage press ons, punch outs, 6×6 paper and Bella Brads was to give a contrasting colour to work with the Queen Bee papers.   I started off with just the brads but then added a punch out, paper behind my photo and a little bit of lace. Just enough colour to pull your eye around the layout.

We would just love to see you show off yourfavourite Pink Paislee products so we encourage you to upload your work to the LivePink gallery.  Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful Friday!!

Word It Wednesday – Hi!

Hi all! Karola here with new Word for Wednesday.

It is always good to give a sign for someone about thinking and remembering. Sometimes just enough a short word or a small card.

But why not made a card with the word “Hi!” at the front and the warm words in the inside? I think the card with the word “Hi” will be suitable for many occasions … Sometimes it must be given to whether or not you have the friend with whom you’ve seen a long ago, someone, whom you want to greet and you thinking of her/him? Or maybe you have new neighbors and would like to know them better? Delicious cake plus this card will be a nice gift. Sometimes we send packages to friends from far away – why not add to box this type of card? Set of cards with very nice word “Hi!” always be a great handmade gift!

My cards have unusual shapes – I’ve made a bracket shape card and the second is a cloud shape card with a sun.

Thursday’s Trend: Handmade Gifts

It seems like more and more of us scrapbookers are always looking for nice gifts that we can make with our growing stash of scrapbooking supplies. So today I’ve come up with a little box of cards to give someone as a gift…maybe for a teacher to say thank you (filled with thank you cards that they can give at the end of the year?) My mom and my mother-in-law are always asking for handmade cards from me that they can give to friends and family, so a couple of times a year, I like to put a little box of cards together for them. Or if you have a scrapbooking friend who likes to make cards, you can fill it with some yummy Pink Paislee supplies-brads, Artisan tape, cork buttons- like I did here, and they can put their own cards together! All it takes is a few pieces of paper to create the actual box!

For the base of the box, you will cut a piece of paper 8″ x 8″. Score in 1 and 1/2″ on each side. Fold on the scored lines (arrows). Cut on the dotted lines. Fold the 4 corner flaps in. Adhere the 4 corners to the inside.

The box top is very similar. You will cut the patterned paper 8″ x 8″ again. However, when scoring, score 1 and 1/8″ in from each side instead of 1 and 1/2″. Fold on the scored lines. Cut on the dotted lines. Adhere it together just like you did with the box bottom. If you want to punch a design on the bottom edges of the box top, do so before you adhere the sides together. I punched a scallop in mine.

You can leave the inside open to hold larger cards. Or you can create little dividers to hold gifts and little trinkets on the side. To create the dividers inside:

1. Large horizontal divider: cut a piece of patterned paper 5 1/4″ x 7″ long. Score at 3 1/2″, 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2″. Fold so that the middle score is up and the other 2 scores are down. Adhere. Set inside box.

2. Small vertical divider: cut a piece of patterned paper 7 1/4″ x 1 3/4″. Score at 2 1/2″, 3 1/2″ and 4 1/2″. Fold the same way as the first one with the center score up to create the divider. Adhere and set inside box.

I used a mix of the Queen Bee line here, along with some Artisan Tape and Artisan Swirls and the Expressions Ambrose Alphabet. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
